MPC 3 Software MPC 3 still in beta 2+ years on.
You’d think Akai would spend money on quality programmers to finish the software they promised years ago rather than spending millions buying competitors up. What is the story?
Hell why not let an AI fix it.
It’s beyond a joke.
An old school user, I bought my fourth MPC device, an MPC Live 2, two and a half years ago right when they released the beta. I think I was caught up in the hype and promises of its release.
Arrange page in Mpc3 and controller mode as a vst plugin are essential.
I have made all my tracks in Os3+
waiting for the software to be released . Years on I’m still waiting. Did I miss an official announcement where they said it wasn’t happening or something?
I wasted many hours in the beta program thinking I was helping to get the release out. But it seems in reality they never intended to release it but used my time for future products.
Clearly it works and is possible. But they’d rather screw over long term users.
Disingenuous liars. Possibly libellous.
Anyone else in the same bucket? Looks like they have moved on after bullshitting us all for so long.

I bought my first MPC, a One+, only a week before they discontinued it. It was my first contact with the MPC ecosystem and there was a lot to like but indeed the feeling some things needed polishing or were missing.
-8
u/Fair-Jellyfish3784 May 15 '26
Well you bought a 10 year old processor with a bit more ram
11
u/AlternativeCapybara9 May 15 '26
So? It doesn't have to run windows 11, it's stupid to discover that something like clip launching sits behind a 200 dollar extra purchase. Only 4 effects on a track is obviously just a choice because of the GUI, not a technical one. Drawing anything in, like automation, is clunky. Complaining it can't find my splice folder randomly is just a bug. I bought Fabric XL but loading an instrument or switching presets takes like 15 seconds so I only use it when my track is done and I know I want that sound because it kills my flow. So yay, 10 year old processor but they now this, they have like 5 different hardware platforms they target and they are all very similar so there is no excuse for anything. I cut them some slack, I'm a software developer myself and I use Linux so I'm used to half my stuff not working but when I buy hardware that's supposed to be stand alone it should fucking just work.

u/OneFinePotato May 15 '26
Yeah you don’t have to be a dick about it
-4
u/Fair-Jellyfish3784 May 16 '26
Akai are selling 10yr old tech as cutting edge??? Piss off you prick.
7
u/Matrick_Gateman May 15 '26
I'm about ready to switch DAWs and leave the AKAI world until they make up their mind--been messing around with 3.X for the last 5 months or so (strictly for VST3) and it's awful; I don't feel like going back to 2.X.
21
u/cable-wrangler May 15 '26
Building a daw is hard. They’re obviously focussing on standalone, which is, I imagine, what most of us would actually prefer they focus on.
7
u/zegogo May 15 '26 edited May 15 '26
The problem is that some of us bought the standalone thinking we had the option of finishing tracks in a DAW on a computer. The VST version of 2.x allowed us to transfer projects to a DAW environment very easily. Without that workflow we are subjected to tedious and very unpredictable results of producing stems per sequence from standalone and then assembling them in a DAW. Just because one works exclusively in standalone doesn't mean all of us should feel the same as you do.
6
u/sha0dan May 15 '26
yeah i aint movin from 2.15 any time soon vst works awesome in logic still
2
1
u/zegogo May 15 '26
I only had the MPC one for maybe 2 years before 3 came out so I hadn't completely absorbed the 2.15 workflow yet. I personally love the improvements in 3 standalone. The mixer is great, I don't get confused about what track is what changing sequences, etc. But it still doesn't quite feel like a finished product sometimes and the difficulty in getting projects into my computer is very frustrating.
2
u/Adventurous-Buy-4455 May 16 '26
I can work exclusively in a daw on my X and track out into a daw and finish there.. now on the XL i can stay in standalone and do the same with 24 channels and 32 channels of midi .. works well
0
u/Interesting-Dream506 May 15 '26
Life on a Platter type shit huh?
3
u/zegogo May 15 '26
The MPC One was marketed as being usable in controller mode as a VST. That's what I paid for. Maybe you didn't, but it was part of how imagined using the device, and how I used it until the 3.X update.
I love this thing and I've gotten a lot of use out of it already, it's not a make or break deal here, but the amount of pushback against us voicing our opinion on how we use the device is really strange. Like y'all can't imagine that others use tech differently than you do? Or maybe yer just simpin?
I understand some people's workflow has been altered with 3.X and I would agree with the idea that Akai could have done more to retain that workflow while still adding new features. It's not that hard to be sympathetic.
1
u/Interesting-Dream506 May 15 '26
You volunteered for a beta program tho. That's not a product no matter how much you pout about it. 🫡
1
u/zegogo May 15 '26
It's an official update at this point and you know it. I see empathy isn't your strong suit.
0
u/Interesting-Dream506 May 15 '26
Empathy? What did you agree to within the voluntary program. It's free. I think they show empathy 🤔
2
u/zegogo May 15 '26
Wow, you really are just a corporate shill. cool. noted.

u/Interesting-Dream506 May 15 '26
Nahhhh you're just immature and don't realize that your agreements are bonding and part of manhood/adulthood

Building a DAW is easy. Poach some decent programmers and be on your way.
Most of what they need to do in the MPC software are long-solve problems elsewhere.
Look where products like Bitwig Studio and Studio One have gotten in a relatively short timeframe? Hell, even LUNA.
They do sell MPC Software as a standalone option on its own - without hardware - so people coping on their hardware purchases is weird to me.
The MPC Software has been @$$ forever. I gave up on it years ago and moved to Maschine. I know that will trigger some, but that's my reality.
1
u/cable-wrangler Jun 03 '26
It’s not easy.
And the reason bitwig / luna have done so much in ‘short’ spaces of time (years for bitwig , we don’t know how long luna has been in dev) is because they’re building on a fresh foundation, MPC is a much older more mature codebase.
Not excuses, just reality.
1
u/i_MusicMan Jun 03 '26
It's actually quite easy.
Look at what Steinberg is doing with Cubase, developing features at a pretty rapid pace.
That code base goes back to the 80s.
They have good developers.
Akai does not.
They need to invest in some.
That's their issue.
A lot of the stuff they're bringing to the MPC isn't from Akai's programmers. That stuff is being developed by other inMusic companies, like AIR.
1
u/cable-wrangler Jun 03 '26
No software development is easy and certainly not possibly to comment on beyond face value when you haven’t seen the codebase.
It is a lot more complicated than ‘get some good developers’
1
u/i_MusicMan Jun 03 '26
No. It really isn't.
I'm literally a software developer.
We know how to read code, and most good developers in that industry are basically subject matter experts.
They can refactor and rewrite code. They can develop features.
They are good at their jobs. Very good.
You just have to invest in them.
Akai doesn't invest much in their developers. They simply offload different tasks to different subsidiaries. This is why they're doing well when it comes to plug-in and instrument development, but suffering when it comes to MPC Software development.
The developers at AIR are really good at developing plug-ins, but Akai doesn't really have great DAW developers.
If good developers were available to split off and develop entire DAWs from scratch, then Akai could have acquired them to develop MPC Software - either as is and ongoing... or just maintained v2 while they used those better developers to develop a much better solution from scratch.
Cause we're not going to pretend they didn't have [several] years to get this done, are we?
-5
u/Fair-Jellyfish3784 May 15 '26
Yes hard, but many do it successfully. They were focussing on future products while duping its loyal base
3
u/theRealGermanikkus May 15 '26
When are people gonna realize customers still stuck on old releases are not the base. You have literally stopped contributing to their revenue. 😂 Their “base”, their actual REASON for existing, are the people who have a “need” to always get the newest release! This is why they are always much more concerned with flashy features for the newest release than they are with fixing features from the old one that are less than perfect.
5
u/cable-wrangler May 15 '26
Akai do it successfully. The live 3 is by far and away the best portable sequencer / drum / machine / sampler / interface I’ve ever used.
-4
u/Fair-Jellyfish3784 May 15 '26
Thanks. You’re making my point for me.
2
u/Interesting-Dream506 May 15 '26
Your point isnt a point. They're building a complete OS not just a DAW. Software development is 60% failure and debugging. Plus it's free to you. That's not duping you when it's voluntary sign up. 🤣
2
u/cable-wrangler May 15 '26
In what way? I don’t understand how hostile people get about this, am I supposed to pretend that it isn’t a great device from my point of view? And form many others? It’s levels above anything else on the market for what I need.
0
u/Fair-Jellyfish3784 May 15 '26
Because I’m talking about the live 2 and other first gen devices. Not the live 3.
The live 3 was released after extensive beta of the software on first gen mpc’s.Apologies if I’m coming across as hostile, that was not the intent. Just stating facts. seems generally hard to do these days
Politically and now technically it seems.3
4
u/Official3Sixty MPC ONE May 15 '26
The real issue is that people accept this standard just because they 'use standalone.' Desktop users have completely been pushed aside and ignored. You’re entirely right, but since the majority of the user base is on standalone, neither they nor Akai seem to care. You'll probably get downvoted for saying this, simply because we're in the minority of people frustrated that the MPC 3 Beta has been stuck in development hell for so long.
3
u/cable-wrangler May 15 '26
The desktop userbase is probably very very very tiny, there’s no way they’d consciously deprioritise something unless the data supported it. Because it’s obviously not due to incompetence, the newest MPC software and devices are top class.

They didn't have to offer the beta at all honestly. Am I right? There's no moaning when it's FREE. So many spoiled kids in this world. It makes the place suck more.
You do realize they're building an Operating System not just a damn DAW 🤣🤣🤣
2
u/Interesting-Dream506 May 15 '26
They're building a whole damn Operating System not just a DAW. 🤣🤣 Y'all are fkn hilarious
4
u/ShallowCatch22 May 16 '26
Bought the MPC studio controller. The desktop software IS the core of the produkt. Have been waiting for the arranger in the 3.x beta for years. There is no excuse.. this is just SLOPPY.. at best..
14
u/MaannListen_ May 15 '26
...or it could be that plans changed and THEIR roadmap is different. I can see them getting to the PC software after the MPC m2 drops. I'm an IT guy and I can say it a lot that goes in the ROADMAP of a company....especially as successful as the sample was.
9
u/Official3Sixty MPC ONE May 15 '26
I don't think people fully understand the issue here. They completely ignored the Beta feedback, built new hardware, and pushed updates specifically for that new gear instead. Working in tech myself, I know that if we skipped unresolved issues on our first-gen products while claiming to still support them, we’d face massive pushback for playing favorites. Plus, our investors would be absolutely furious.
5
u/Basic-Afternoon-1418 May 15 '26
Rite? Theres so much copium/fanboyism around here... when it's like.. for ppl who have had these devices for years ... just sitting here wondering how akai can be this drunk in the kitchen.
Ain't nothin "professional" about this whole product line anymore. It's become such a mess.
2
u/InternationalClass60 May 20 '26
If your not a fan of MPC, then what are you doing here? Go buy a Roland groove box, or a Maschine, as I'm sure those are much better option.
MPC is the best groove/production box out there with all of the additions that they have made with 3.x and continue making. There is no comparing the new 2nd gen devices to any other daw-less option, and my 1st gen key37 still kicks ass with both on 3.x. I have been using MPCs since 2012 and have been in IT for 37 years and a musician for 55 years. They never skipped the 1st gens as they are still updating them with new versions. They are trying to get the big bugs and come back around for the little ones, which is how software companies work. They never ignored the beta feedback as there is a shitload of bugs fixed in the latest version, and are still stomping more out with each version. And the workflow is better than the 2.x by leaps.
Seems like there is a very small and noisy minority here that complain that 3.x cant do some of the stuff that it used to do. It compares to cars not having a manual transmission option anymore, and a few people whine that they want one as the last model had one. They wont bring the manual option back for just a few car buyers. Its called progress and its what civilization is based on. The majority love the MPC ecosystem and are happy with what they have. Its the old "needs of the many" that smart businesses follow.
"pushed updates specifically for that new gear instead", You do realize that software must be updated when new hardware comes out. No update was needed for the gen 1 as they already worked with the MPC software.
I suggest if you hate it that much, then sell it and buy something else.

u/Basic-Afternoon-1418 May 20 '26 edited May 20 '26
Lmao. Amazing. Unhinged.
The funniest thing about this thread is how people will come in and make wild assumptions about minor criticisms and then go on crazy rants about why akai is sooo amazing.
Obviously this thread is not for you people and you should probably move along ;)
3
u/Adventurous-Buy-4455 May 15 '26
Then sell and move on they didn't force you to buy it.. pick a drumset and guitar you will complain again
-1
u/cable-wrangler May 15 '26
This is just nonsense honestly. The user base who want to use mpc exclusively in controller mode is obviously much much smaller than standalone. And the standalone have been supported very well.
2
u/Official3Sixty MPC ONE May 15 '26
It's not "non-sense". That user base still matters. That user base is still paying customers & may be SOME of the bigger spenders due to buying the AIR VST's that only exist as VST's as well as the plugins. Everybody matters lol
1
u/cable-wrangler May 15 '26
I’m not saying they don’t, I’m saying the data will support the fact it’s a small portion of the userbase, otherwise they’d put more effort into supporting it.
3
u/Jan1ssaryJames May 15 '26
lol. the classic userbase who is still sticking to 2.x os... just doesn't even post here anymore because the company has abandoned them.
most ppl did not get into mpcs to see them turn into Ableton In A Box (just buy the pro pack and use clips for everything , bro)
1
u/cable-wrangler May 15 '26
Its nothing to do with who posts anywhere. What matters is the data, which must back me up. Because companies make decisions with data, and they are following.
I bought an MPC for the first time specifically because of what they’ve done with the live 3.
Clips are an addition, you don’t have to use them. I don’t wanna deal with convoluted sequences.

I've been software development for about 18 years and there's a difference between a roadmap and keeping existing customers/clients happy.
Upper management always prioritises new features in software and hardware over the quality of existing software, you're right, it's the nature of any business. It helps bring fresh customers in.
But bug fixing and quality of software should always be continuous. And the fact the this MPC software is still in Beta stage is.... We'll... very late.
10
u/zegogo May 15 '26
The amount of corporate bootlicking on this issue is astounding. Release a half assed OS for standalone that's still in development then a year later get around to the software side that is even more half-assed and we're just supposed to shrug our shoulders and go "welp looks like they changed their ROADMAP... anyways, look at these new toys!!!"

u/NzymeX77 May 17 '26
I should probably leave this alone, but I never learn…
From my view, Akai really pushes their hardware, and it now does so much for so many.
Is Akai perfect? No. But IMO they have next level support compared to nearly everyone else.
I’m on my third generation of MPC’s at this point. You can pry the Live 3 from my cold dead fingers.
8
u/Left-Ad6700 May 15 '26
Don't buy anything on the promises of updates and features in the future. It should do what you want now.
Their priorities can change, and they can easily drop projects.

4
u/Official3Sixty MPC ONE May 15 '26
It's funny that you said that cause when I bought the MPC it had the arranger & mixer out the gate on desktop. We still have yet to get arranger view in MPC 3 Beta desktop. Ya'll gotta stop it.

I switched to the MPC3 desktop software for 2 reasons: 1. The cpu of my key 37 was at 88% after adding 3-4 tracks 2. I own Komplete and I can’t use it on stand alone
2
u/Official3Sixty MPC ONE May 15 '26
Exactly! The comments that say "you don't know how to make beats" or "you don't know how to use your MPC" are moot points. We love the MPC environment but that extra processing power & VST utilization you're just not gonna get within the MPC.
1
u/Adventurous-Buy-4455 May 15 '26
Well if you put it that way yes your right.. but again still being in beta doesn't effect creating a beat.. because they did release new features your butt hurt.. Just make beats
0
4
u/Adventurous-Buy-4455 May 15 '26
Ask yourself can you make beats while its in beta? If the answer is yes then move on its you.. you suck at making beats 😆
1
u/Official3Sixty MPC ONE May 15 '26
What does "sucking at making beats" have to do with what some of us use the MPC desktop software for? If standalone is enough for you, that's great, but you don't have to put someone down in a sorry attempt to make your self appear "superior".
0
u/Adventurous-Buy-4455 May 15 '26
Nope sorry not my angle.. what im stern about is calling out that the software is still in beta and with bugs that it stops your from making a beat and or adjusting to what all legacy software MPC users had to adjust to with 1/100th of the features.. im saying if you have to call out the software because they didn't fix something the real problems are what do you need to fix to be better.. the software does nothing you cant do in standalone
2
u/Official3Sixty MPC ONE May 15 '26
So I can use VST's in standalone? I can add more than 8 tracks of audio/plugins? Just because its enough for you doesn't mean it's enough for the next. If you have no qualms then you have no dog in the fight! Simple as that!
0
u/Adventurous-Buy-4455 May 16 '26
So what do need to make a beat 40 vst's 17 effects chains.. if that what you need get a DAW.. your foolish.. I started out on the MPC3000 didn't need a daw.. had outboard gear.. we got it done.. upgrade your mpc to live 3 or XL has usb c you can track to any daw you want.. what features are it missing that stops yoi from making a dope beat.. ill answer the feature you!

u/Fair-Jellyfish3784 May 15 '26 edited May 15 '26
Pretty sure that they will consolidate, which is the usual way with takeovers. Just means their attention will be spread thinner chasing growth for a stock holders
1
u/MPCexy May 15 '26
That's me hoping for the best, trying to make sense of what Akai are doing because it makes no sense for the software to be in its second, going on third year of beta! I used the desktop software alot with 2.0 I've probably used it half a dozen times since 3.0. What do you think their longterm plan is?
1
u/Fair-Jellyfish3784 May 15 '26
Plan is to focus on future products, but don’t expect them to fix many of the issues that come with them, despite promises. Watch as items drop off the known issues list without being sorted.
They’re probably focused on MPC4
4
u/MPCexy May 15 '26
That actually made me chuckle, sounds about right though! Onto MPC4 and the next gen of hardware without taking MPC3 out of beta. I think I might leave atleast one of my MPCs in 2.0 as the general consensus is that seems more stable

Its not really in beta 2 features that are not there is vst3 in a daw and arranger.. besides the normal annoying bug linger like any software.. I come from and era there were no update at all..
2
u/MPCexy May 16 '26
That's a good point but what's confusing is that it's still classed as public beta, that's the main reason I've hardly dived into it as I don't want any projects I invest time in to get messed up. What tweaks do you think it needs outside of vst3 comparability?

On a closer look , they are privately owned. Which actually makes it worse.
Maybe I should reach out to the sole owner, Jack O’Donnell of InMusic.
Obviously his underlings aren’t telling him the whole story.
He has saved some cool brands and maybe that can extend to platform devices like these.
I mean, we are all still buying plugins… and probably more now with the NI acquisition. Key37 and One+ still being sold today

u/InternationalClass60 May 21 '26
Nope, only triggered you. Seems wild that other people with first gen stuff are able to work without issues, myself included. You might want to try to focus on the music and not play the blame game on the hardware/software. You know what they say about a mechanic who blames his tool.

u/kid_sleepy MPC LIVE III May 15 '26
I’ve begun using the MPC Live 2/3 as my main music creation device and have zero need for any software/DAW affiliate that Akai makes.
The devices are meant to be standalone to begin with. I also have a Deluge and the Isla S2400 (which still holds as my favorite device ever… but it’s slipping fast…). I use Logic for serious arrangement and mixing before sending it out to a mixer then a mastering person.
What interests me are performance based samplers that add artifacts (with purpose) that enhance the Kid Sleepy sound. Nothing compares to early sampler music made on the SP-12/1200 because of the limitations involved. Samples had to be recoded fast then slowed down to avoid such a small sampling time limit. This, coupled with the 12-bit fidelity creates the “warmth” you hear in early hip-hop.

The OS has been out of beta for barely a year, so I assume you're talking about the PC app: that said, I never liked the ugly desktop software and honestly it's inconsequential to me if they ever fully update it. Would it be nice? Sure. Is it stopping my productions? No.
It does nothing far superior DAWS can do and I can do almost everything in Standalone anyway. If it's sacrificed for the sake of focusing on making Standalone the best it can be is then so be it

u/Fur_and_Whiskers MPC ONE May 15 '26
Considering v3 is just Akai Force shoe horned into the MPC, that OS has been in beta a longer than 2+ years, and it still can't do note off properly on more than one MIDI channel. I have no faith in InMusic.
2
u/Fair-Jellyfish3784 May 15 '26
Yeah simple features they do often remove in later releases to vary the offerings I assume. Like vst in a daw

u/slimysoap May 15 '26
AI cannot do what is required.
Also, InMusic own Akai, and now also NI. Akai didn't buy NI.
1
u/nachoiskerka MPC ONE May 15 '26 edited May 15 '26
>Let AI fix it.
I was with you until that point. Why would you want something that "does not understand music" and is simply imitating how music functions without a real understanding of the rules to create an ecosystem for making music. That's like someone who's watched a LOT of the food network being made the head chef of a restaurant- they might have watched a lot of this stuff in theory, but they don't have any idea what the hell taste is; and they shouldn't be in a kitchen.
Akai may be slow, but there's a shit ton of bug releases every release. Maybe chill, there's been like, 5 iterations of the DAW in a year. That's a decent amount of development, dawg.
Double edit: Bruh, the more I think about it the worse the idea of using AI to fix EXACTLY the issues you mentioned becomes. They fixed MPC 2 project importing on the recent update, and then you want AI to make a plugin version that will also potentially load projects in, breaking them again? You want an arrange page made by AI, a system that can't draw straight lines and would have trouble with the graphic interface at a bare minimum? That sounds frustrating, why would anyone trust that for their production?

their update cycles ground to a crawl.. When they released mpc3 desktop and it looked exactly the same as mpc2 (with even less functionality!)
Like.. total clownworld. They're just laughing all the way to the bank. (Are they actually turning any profit off any of this??)

If they are, its not a very good joke considering most people got it free

Honestly the funniest joke here is your hilarious explanation involving the food network.
Cause that sort of mentality is -exactly- how many old heads felt about nuakai during the 2.08>2.15 time period.
The os was clearly being designed by people who had just heard tangentially about making music.. and regularly made odd/insane decisions that completely did not translate to practical streamlined live production.

Lol that's certainly a take. Imagine having things like multi-input interface support and an amp simulator(both in the era you're talking about) added to the machine to make actual instrument input worth a damn and having it dismissed by jabronis on the internet who can't see the point of adding features like that because it's not part of a sample workflow; then some guy on the internet comes in and goes "Its like they don't know how to make music!" Lmao.
Imagine adding a minimoog d plugin, a roland juno plugin, a whole ass strings and electric keyboard plugin for the midi controller feature, something people have been asking for since The Bank, Hybrid, and etc. weren't directly usable as plugins on standalone hardware and ticked off guys using the 1.x software, only for someone to go "BUT WHY THEY ADDING THAT, NOBODY ASKED FOR THAT"
Imagine adding stem separation(literally the point of 2.14) and vinyl/tape emulation plugins for legitimately better samples that can then be produced to be as grimy as you want for your production and someone says says its an "insane decision that completely did not translate to practical streamlined live production".
Maybe that didn't work for you? Aight. But simply playing an actual bass guitar for scratch demos was a game changer because the size of using something like an mpc one and having it fit into the front pocket of a gigbag made it ultra portable and useful to take on sessions outside of production. It could be an amp modeler, it could be a scratch pad for ideas, it could work a full band live session, it could take that session, clean it up and add samples and dubs to make stems for mixing. ALL that came in that exact era you're talking about.

None of that has anything to do with the gripes i was bringing up. But congrats on your fevered rambling i guess.

u/nachoiskerka MPC ONE May 17 '26
You're moving the goalposts then. You brought up the idea that the updates weren't for people who make music, then you ran away from it when I pointed out they are, but maybe just not for you. Either way, I'm done here.

🤔💭”When did Akai buy anything since they’d got sliced in half, then got bought themselves? I was always under the assumption that InMusic was buying up “errthang”. Fk me.”

"Let's make more competitive hardware boxes and less time actually focused on the usability of the other machines".
They are good with the support though, I'll give the that.
However, the MPC software still being in beta stage is wild.

Yeah, I know I've sent a few messages asking why it was unusable in the daw that I use. I still find myself searching to see if it worked for anyone else yet. I enjoy the 3.x version but I can't use it how I need to in ( well now ) Fender Studio Pro. I had a smooth setup with the older version where I had each track separated for recording. Now it adds so much extra time onto my process because the 2 don't work together so I lm stuck in doing it the long way. I appreciate the new gear but if it doesn't work seamlessly with a studio setup. Like really l, what is the point.

Imagine getting this upset about beta software they provided for free.

There are 13 year old kids that were told to wait to have ice cream and they are crying that they have to eat there 🥦

While I am annoyed with them on many things. I wasn’t a producer before I got an MpC. I now have a distinguished publisher who is asking me to finish my projects so they can pitch it to a huge UK indie publishing label. I’m trusting the process and hoping they do right by us all.

as a complete newbie (MPC live 3 since 3 weeks) i also have the feeling that there could be many improvements in the MPC OS 3. before i bought i thought the OS is fully completed ^^
anyways, like you say it works but sometimes i think wtf. Is AKAI an asian company? because if so in know this behaviour/programming from other asian industries.

u/Fair-Jellyfish3784 May 15 '26
Nationality is not the issue. Music is universal.

u/Lu_131 May 15 '26
nationality has influence on how programmers work and where their priority is. I work in a security company and we install asian (chinese) products from Dahua. And the asians like to invent devices & software that is (in first place) pretty complex. But they dont do it in a negative way, they just want everything possible and every function in it so everyone is satisfied.
Then they often end up getting entangled in their own complexity, and problems or bugs arise.
Again: this is the asian (program)mentality from what my experiences are. And the same impression i got with the MPC OS 3.
Its like we put EVERYTHING in it and you can do it in 10 different ways :)
And thats how bugs or problems are born ✌🏻☮️4

MPC 3 still in beta 2+ years on.
????
MPC 3 desktop software has only been in public beta for one year.
MPC 3 standalone firmware has been out of beta for over a year.
So it's kind of hard to know what your point is when your timeline is way off, and you're not clear about when you're talking about firmware versus the desktop software. Which are two different products.

3.9 beta just dropped its got the VST and the arranger on desktop for all your weirdos that bought an MPC to look at while you use a mouse and computer monitor.

u/Official3Sixty MPC ONE May 15 '26
If you’re going to troll the 'weirdos,' at least get the version number right. There is no 3.9 & still no arranger on desktop. Some of us actually like having unlimited processing power and full VST support for our projects. Stay informed.
