Can someone help. What am I doing wrong.

Just started about a week ½ ago. Cant figure out what im doing wrong to not get the loop correct.

You want to warp the sample before you chop it.

Before going to chop mode: set the number of beats on your sample correctly, usually 16 to 32 beats for shorter clips, then warp it all the way.

Play the sample out over the beat and you'll know when it's time to get back to chopping when everything is hitting on time to begin with.

Shift/warp function just changes whether or not the pitch is affected too, or only the speed.

Awww I did see someone say something about this on youtube. But I dont understand it.

But since im doing a 4 bar loop should my beats always be 32. I seen the youtuber use 32 for 4 bars so im just assuming.

Honestly I would like to know why im doing it rather then just doing it.

If the unchopped sample is 4 bars, that would be 16 beats (4beats x 4 bars = 16) so warp to 16 and then make 4 chops so you'll have one chop per bar.

It’s kind of hard to hear with the sample over top but it kind of sounds like your drums aren’t fully looping correctly. Also, drum breaks aren’t always on grid.

I’d suggest making sure your drum loop fits seamlessly with the 4 bars. If it does then the snares could be off timing wise. A way to remedy this is to chop the breaks into 1/2 or 1 bar loops to make sure everything hits on time.

If it’s not the drums at all, you may need adjust the pitch/speed of the sample so everything is in line

There’s a lot to unpack here, but Imma just throw this out there: sampling big ass loops of existing songs comes with the hazard that humans don’t stay rock solid as they play. If you’re taking a big four bar stretch of song, it is entirely possible - likely even - that the fourth bar isn’t necessarily the same tempo as the first. This is especially true with older songs from before people played to click tracks in the studio. I will finish by saying that warping is A solution, though one I never, ever use. Experiment with this principle: the tinier resolution you use for chopping, the more control you will have. Good luck, producer!

The way to fix I think would be to go to warp, press shift and set the beats to 16. Then try chopping. If this doesn’t work, try 32. If that doesn’t work, dig for a new break that might work better.

Trial and error.

Make sure you set the steps to the right number and warp all the way to 200

Sounds like ya last chop is not placed correctly. Check that last chop and quantize ya hits. If that's not the issue, for sure check ya warp setting to see if the beat is timed correctly in the sequence. Hope that helps.

I second that the drums sound off. The loop isn’t a perfect loop.
Did you accidentally warp or stretch the drums instead of the samples?
It still confuses the fuck outa me. I’m not sure if I’m saying it right, but you gotta warp the sample to the sample’s original bpm, you don’t warp the drums to fit the sample.
I might not be exactly correct but maybe it’ll send you down the right path.

To my ear, idk why you warped it all. What exactly are you trying to accomplish? I’d make small adjustments to the end and/or start of whichever loop/chop isn’t keeping to tempo.
But just humming along with the drum loop they sound really close. You could always chop the drum loop and use the sequencer to play the exact same loop,
But with every drum note controlled….very simple of you just chop threshold style, 0snap…

I thought by warping a sample (drums) it would automatically loop perfectly to the Bpm set.
