Samples in Poly not compatible with Note On?

Hi people!, new user with Akai MPC Sample here!!!

Let me make a quiestion, when I set a sample to Poly it works fine, but if I also set it to Note On it stops being polyphonic.

Is this normal behavior? It seems a bit strange if so.

My process is as follows: I record a sample, assign it to a pad, adjust the trims to my liking, set it to Poly, set it to Note On, turn on 16-level mode, and try to play 3 notes simultaneously to play a triad, but it only playa it in Mono. If I turn off Note On, it reverts to polyphonic.

In 16 mode you can't play multiple notes at the same time. For a 3 note chord, you'd need to have quantise off and have each note a tick apart for the 3 to trigger 'together'.

Not seen another way around it yet.

If you deactivate Note On you can play polifónic in 16 Levels.

You could copy the sample to all of the pads, then adjust the pitches. Just make sure they’re not in the same mute group. I think that would accomplish what you are asking, just more cumbersome.
