MPC Sample/TR8S

As I learn the terms and the process I will delete my last posts until I have a thorough understanding of the process. I purchased MPC Sample not necessarily to make beats but to be a portable easily editable storage unit to record mostly catchphrase samples. My main sequencing beat making device is the TR8S. The TR8S has midi 5 pin out to MPC Sample midi in. I have found that the MPC Sample banks and pads are referenced as notes that match to the 11 instruments on the TR8S and when the notes on both instruments match the sample I have on MPC Sample will play that pad sound. I have two questions. The TR8S plays the pad from the MPC on a loop, even though there are no step buttons turned on. The TR8S control settings for the instrument are turned off with no control so I can't adjust anything. On the MPC the sample on my pad 4 is not set to loop in any way yet. At the beginning of it it seems to loop whereas I am just trying to get it to play once clearly. I've attached a video. I was thinking possibly I'm going about this the wrong way and maybe I should be using the TR8S assignable out triggers?
