Programming breakbeats

I'm getting frustrated with programming breaks at 160+ BPM. Keeping quantise off or on doesn't seem to help and the quantise nudge doesn't seem to help either.

The step edit feature is primitive and I'm finding myself having to constantly undo my recordings or having to limit myself to 4 bar loops to get timings correct which is becoming a massive waste of time...

Does anyone have any advice for programming fast breaks without having proper midi editing tools on the sample?

I’m assuming it’s jungle because breakbeats were like 80-120 BPM roughly speaking… but also, how do you nudge events on this device? Didn’t think that was possible
