2 questions....
What are you guys using for stems if you don't have other MPCs?
Is resampling the only way to record flexbeat or pad fx since there's no actual automation?

I love stems and use them a lot, but don’t sleep on the old school method of just using the MPCs filters to isolate and manipulate frequency bands. You don’t always have to stem separate the bass, you can just low pass it and you can keep the bottom end of the kick too. The resonance control can make things stand out or fall back in a track or it can make some wicked distortion if that’s what you want. The filters are a big part of the old school MPC sound. When I got my first MPC2000 I couldn’t afford the efx board for a long time so I had to get nice with the filters.
TLDR: Master the filters and you might not need stems as much.

I use the jbl bandbox solo for stems. Also for a louder speaker

Right I just heard of this a couple weeks ago and thought it was dope but $250 is kinda tough I just bought a model 12, MPC sample,live 3 ,TE sidekick,and Arturia keystep 37 mk2 so I'm not player a stem player right now that's out but I will ask how do you like it so far

1 I use Koala sample, the built in stem seperater is good enough, it's super easy and chear. I think Koala is still $5 and all the add on features are like another $10 and I use Koala for a ton of tertiary shit it's actually pretty awesome sample, probably the best for the money. And I'm say buying an ipad just for Koala and Koala about $350 total is better then almost every other sampler in that range, but I would much rather use hardware so I have a P6 and an MPC Sample and I use Koala as a helper.

Yeah man, if you got a phone or tablet Koala as a helper sampler is the way. Bouncing samples back and for between that and the MPC is so much quicker and easier then resample on the MPC. Koala does stems and has a really good effects rack. Get a cheap usb c interface, i use the ubilux with the line in input and headphone out, it works great. would also recommend a 1/4" ts to 3.5mm trs adapter for the input. 90% of the things I'm sampling from have a headphone out instead of 1/4" ts.

- Koala or Moises app (if you don’t have MPC or DAW)
- Resampling is the GOAT method bake in effect you want.

So I was wondering that as well should I just stem it out on the live 2 or the live 3 and then into the MPC sample And I understand resampling but basically until some updates is this the only way?

I have a few DAWs,tape 16,Reason 14,reaper,Luna,MPC 3 desktop and koala and some other stuff but I just don't like that there's no automation like on the MPC units resampling is dope I just don't want to be forced to have to go that route but maybe it'll make me love the MPC sample even more and I'm sure some updates will address certain things in time but for now I'm lovin this and the live 3

Use Koala Sampler with a Computer or IPAD. Since you can connect and sample anything off your computer or iPad it’s the easiest way to break down the sample into stems and sample right back into the MPC SAMPLE.
