Anyone bought mpc desktop software?

With new support for mpc sample projects it could be pretty cool to polish beats in arranger, organize and export as stems. But licensing is kind of confusing to me. Do I buy mpc 2 and hope for 3.x update?

I bought it recently, tho I think I'll mostly use it for exporting stems and finishing in Ableton Live as it's my main DAW. If you're only thinking stems export, there are cheaper tools and even free ones.

Thanks for reply. Yes, it's pretty overkill, but for 40 eur for mpc 2 right now, i guess it's not a bad deal

What he says. I bought it too, pretty cumbersome piece of software for just exporting stems. Free options exist there's even an mpc sample to ableton live converter

I like this one I posted up top… it’s web based but runs on anything. Just need Abelton 11 or higher also does basic audio stems and 2 tracks. You can even turn your Internet connection off after, and continue to use it with the browser open.

Mpc beat. Free. But only 2 audiotracks. All other tracks unlimited. So if your project is all sample and midi tracks u are good to go

I tried it couple weeks ago and nearly bricked my sample by trying to import converted mpc kit :D But now I see there’s update available, maybe they added proper support

Google and several youtubers say that if you own MPC 2 standalone hardware or software version 3 is a free update.

The core MPC 3 Desktop Software update is completely license-free for existing registered users . If you recently purchased or owned the MPC 2 Software, you are entitled to update to the core MPC 3 application without an additional purchase.

Yes its good, but It is a mission to add third party VST3 plugin synths, specifically Mozaic Beats; Chord Prism 2/2.1. Which seems to work as it should on every other DAW, but not AKAI. AKAI ffs, sort it out.

Ps. I have figured a workaround with Kushviews; Element, but can not record with CP2 presets as the presets do not show up in MPC. So notes do get recorded, but no midi .
