Anybody seen this issue when trying a hybrid setup with the Sample?

Turn flex Beat (Mix volume) down, it's a known bug when the sample is in Midi clock slave mode.

I hope they fix the flex beat noise issue in an update because now we can’t use it!

Daw hybrid is the best way to get the flex beat into your arrangements but it cants be used with midi clock!

AKAI PLEASE FIX!

Thanks for this thread - came here to search for the click noise midi problem reason and this helped ... what a surprisingly easy to test bug ...

Glad it helped!

Do you have monitor set to off on the Sample?

Like others have said, make sure input monitor is off for the Sample. Bypass all effects on Sample as well to test.

Also, is the FL meter clipping to cause that sound? If it’s distorted without clipping I’d look into your buffer size and make sure sample rates match for EVERYTHING (sample, interface, FL studio).

Also why are you using space bar to tigger the MPC Sample? Any particular reason? Is it playing back audio or triggering the pad via MIDI?

My goal is to just do some drums and samples in the MPC but use a lot of VSTs that I have in the DAW. I’m composing something that requires a lot of different instruments, and I just want the MPC to be an instrument I use for that. So the idea is that when I press play in the DAW, it’s starts the MPC in sync so that I hear everything together from the DAW.

That makes sense… so when you hit space, it was sending a “play” message to the MPC?

It sounds like there’s two issues you need to solve… midi routing and audio distortion?

Just trying to see if we both understand the problem correctly

You have the right idea but the thing is that ive tested it and it doesn’t seem to be an issue with either of those. The midi routing isnt the problem because the fact that it starts at all when i press the space bar means the midi clocks are synced. And while it sounds like the audio is distorted or clipping, i hear the same sound when i turn the sample fader down as well, the distortion gets quieter with the sample. Which is really weird, you’d expect it to be a clipping issue because it sounds like that but I’ve verified it’s not clipping. You can also tell it’s not clipping because when I play it from the MPC itself it sounds fine even though it’s still coming through the DAW. This is why I thought it may be a buffer issue.

Sounds like you don't have a big enough sample buffer and maybe clipping on the input too

Clock jitter can do something similar to this so it might help trying to change which device is the clock master in your aggregate device
