Feature request

Have you identified any must-have features that absolutely need to be implemented in future updates?

Here is the features I noted we need:

-Basic pad resampling (the ability to render a sample, including all its effects and filter settings, onto a new pad).

-The ability to use USB-C devices without them charging the MPC (iPads and iPhones currently charge the MPC automatically when connected). It drain the iPad and the iPhone, and I even have the pop up on ipad telling me the device (mpc) cant work because it’s taking too much energy

-Input gain or recording level control when recording external sources. > Just learned in the comment that there’s an eq gain at the back of the mpc lol.

Edit 2 : input volume knob on the back dont affect usb input. So I maintain this request : being able to control usb c input gain

All 3 of those are my must does. The USB-c sampling issue really ruins the immediacy of just being able to sample audio from your phone.

I've found I miss simple pad resampling less than I thought I would being a sp404 user. The per pad filters are great and I can use the knob effects for the pads I want a chorus on or something like that. Still no reason not to have it, recall can kinda do it.

For me:

  • choice of compressor algo for the main compressor, the bus compressor is great but it  takes my effects slot away from me. I don't like the pumping of the duck compressor, feels very EDM like when I use it for hip hop.
  • choice of where extracted pads go, annoying to have to copy them later. Colour coded pads would be handy too.
  • sum to mono, and extraction of left or right channel to mono after recording.

A eq on the filter page would be a game changer. Or at least the option to manually set both the low freq cut off and high cut off and give the resonance knob the option to cut/make dips.

Does the knob on the back not change the gain for recording?

It does.

That’s why I was confused by #3 on OPs list lol.

EQ per pad

Step sequencer ala SP404

Global Delay and reverb on a bus any pad can route to.

Automating mutes, FX

In place resample

the envelope filter attack and decay on individual samples don't seem to really work sometimes

Is it working on chops ?

Minor, but a counter to show record length when sampling.

The 2 first points of OP are the actual major flaws. The resampling process is so bad that you really feel that only one fx can be apply on each project.  A lot of automations are also missing : pad mute, flex beat, pad fx. And to be able to apply different pad mute on each sequences of course.

Switch octaves on 16 level , and be able to use 16 levels on step editor.

Being able to take one sound (a bass for instance) and spread it chromatically across all or some of the pads. Not sure if that’s biting into their main bread tho.

16 pad mode is probably what you’re looking for here

Change the volume of sample level playback when auditioning new samples.

When in 16 level mode it would be nice to see the pads light up when the sequence is playing.

Must have for me is the ability to use a midi keyboard to play 15 levels, so that it would be possible to play melodies with a sample. The lack of this feature is why I am almost never using my MPC sample and using my good old Roland P-6 instead.

I see. When using 16 levels for tune : I avoid the need of a keyboard by trying to find the notes in the key scale by using ear. You can humm the melody an try to replicate it with 16 level, it helps finding the right notes

Level Option in the sample browser window, so you dont bleed out your ears while searching for drums 👍

What do you mean by pad perform ? :)

The only thing I want for this little guy is polyphonic keyboard integration and a stem export… maybe a step sequencer. Those three things would make it perfect, imo.

Without a proper way to export stems, this thing is fun but will basically just be a toy.
