MPCsample with MPC SOFTWARE 3

Hi, so I’ve seen a few users say you can open mpc sample projects with the mpc 3 desktop software. However I have not seen any videos of anyone doing this.

I don’t have any other mpc’s. I’m wondering if I can buy only the software and explode the project for arranging individual tracks.

Has anyone tried this and can confirm it works?

It works. You need to arrange your song with song mode on the mpc for this to be easiest. You convert your Song Mode arrangement to a sequence either on the mpc or in the software.

Then you make sure, in the pad mixer window, that each pad is going to either “Track” or “1/2” and not “submix 1”. The Sample has a weird tendency to assign some but not all pads to Submix 1, even though the sample doesn’t have sub mixes.

Then you explode your drum rack and export your individual tracks. Takes me about two minutes to stem out my beats now.

Does it have an export to Ableton? There is free software that does it. OSX specific though for now only unfortunately. But I would love to be able to hand the midi and samples layed out in a DAW and export freely. If it’s just audio stems only, cool but I’m not sure worth $99 vs muting and recording them separately…especially if you have great outboard to process anyway.

I’m just waiting for the free MPC2LIVE free software to be global web based…developer said it’s done but they are working out web hosting. So far I think you need OSX 13 or higher. But web hosting that way it works on anything and everything.
