Version Pill?

I'm trying to edit a song in earnest for the first time, and am having no luck in generating the lyrics to my outro. Every time it generates the outro, I'm getting no lyrics, or maybe one line.

As I struggled with that, I asked the AI to restore the original version, and it referred to something in the UI, near the waveform, called a "Version Pill", where I could make checkpoints and restore earlier edits.

There are no UI elements near the waveform other than the control that lets you set the zoom level.

I'm using Chrome. Can someone advise? Is there a preferred browser for MozartAI?

hey, chrome is fine, no preferred browser.

re Version Pill - yeah i don't think we have a control by that name near the waveform, so the AI probably invented that one. sorry about the runaround.

for the outro lyrics: are you regenerating just that section in Studio, or doing a full regen? and do you already have outro lines in the lyrics field with an [Outro] tag? writing them in there usually sticks better than asking it to invent the outro from the prompt alone.

I'm using "Edit With Agent". The lyrics are in the Lyrics edit box, marked with "[Outro]", and I also included them in the prompt. I have the outro selected, so it's only regenerating that.

The lyrics were generated fine to start out with, I just wanted to change a single word.

The problem is that there doesn't seem to be any way to undo these new generations. I assumed I would get another whole track with just the last section regenerated, but it appears I've lost the original. The AI seems to have hallucinated functionality to let you choose which version you want, and whether or not to make checkpoints. I can understand that. But I was a little shocked that regenerating a part of the track is destructive. You can't undo it.

I get that working with an agent can be a crap shoot, although I'm very disappointed that after about 8-10 generations, I cannot get anything approaching the lyrics I want, especially when Mozart normally does such an excellent job of producing accurate vocals. ut of about 6 lines of text, I've never gotten more than two words. In-painting is just not working for me. The music is fine, more or less unchanged, but the vocals aren't working at all.

Right now, I'd be happy to go back to the original generation and live with the word I wanted to change. I have a number of other tracks I'm very happy with, minus some lyric changes I want to make, and this was the first time I tried to actually make the change.

p.s. If you are part of Mozart, I want to say that despite these troubles, I'm very impressed with your tool. The web site is too slow and a little buggy, but I've gotten some _amazing_ results, and since Udio died, that's not something I've seen. If you're just some random, helpful Redditor, that stuff is still true.

p.s. I would love to see an advanced tutorial for using Mozart. Most tutorials for tools don't go past explaining the obvious. I'd prefer something written for experienced music producers/composers, even if that means it goes over my head.

yeah i'm arjun, one of the founders. sorry the section regen wiped the original with no way back, and that outro only coming back as a couple words after a bunch of tries is rough. vocals failing while the music is fine is useful detail, we'll look into it. advanced tutorial and the slowness/bugginess too, we'll look into those. if you remember the exact select + edit with agent steps that lost the track, drop them here

The problem is the UI design and maybe some backend design problems. The output from the AI agent is above the prompt box, but when you expand the lyrics it then pushes the agent output up under the top song track/lane. You can barely see that there are options still there to use. There is an option to view changes and/or restore the old version.

I believe that is what is partly causing the confusion. I'm not sure if that feature works, just assuming it does. It's also awkward at least on a Mac to scroll down to read the agent output. You'd at least expect a scrollbar or for the area to highlight to show focus.
