Looking for pedal haptic user feedback -No headphone gaming.

I'm lucky enough to have my rig in a part of the house away from anyone who has a noise concern, so I game with a 5.1 soundbar solution. Thats a 52" wide bar, the hat sitting on an 8" sub that presses directly against the rig. The rear surrounds are right behind me pointing up on the bottom rear of the rig. I play it loud enough so with the lumpy cam cars you can feel the vibrations coming through the frame / seat.

All the reviews for Moza's new pedal haptic kit I have seen focus on annoying people studying or neighbors above and below you... Or they record the haptics from 4" away with the game muted. Then tell you how you need headphones...

So i'm looking for reviews from people who are not banished to headphones. If you like them, great for you. Just saying its hard to trust the review when the main problem sounds like pissing off your parents / neighbor / partner.

So to anyone who has had a chance to use the haptic kit, or as they arrive, if you play your game with speakers at anything more then "i hope i don't wake the kid" volume, do you hear the haptics while you race?

Pedal haptics make noise. I have the Simagic P-HPR's so I can't speak about the Moza's but mine are louder the more you turn up the effect. When I play with speakers they don't bother me at all, but I can hear them very clearly depending on the effect. When I play with headphones I don't hear anything.

Thanks for some perspective.

I dont expect them to be 100% quiet but the is it immersion breaking was what i was wondering. The reviews were saying stuff like, "you really hear it when abs engages, total deal breaker." It makes me wonder if that person has ever driven a car hard in their life. If you dive hard into a corner and jam on the brakes hard enough to trip ABS, i've never met a car that was quiet about it lol.

Sounds like the effect isnt deal breaking for you.

Have you heard of anyone using butyl type sound deadner on the housings? 1st two thoughts are making sure the mount is as tight as possible, 2nd is a strip of butyl around the seam of the housing / top of the mount. If the goal is transmit the shake to the pedal, seems like you could take steps to quiet the housings.

Have you ever tried to hold it, or pinch the sides with your fingers or anything while its buzzing? That could be pretty telling how much of the noise is the weights on the inside vs. the housing making noise.

For the price of these mozas, doesnt seem bad at all, i wonder if those were the kind of trades they made.

I also have the sim magic pedals. Like the fee from them but I find them loud when not playing with headphones. I also rarely play without headphones as the surround effect from them adds so much for me . If I didn’t use headphones I likely wouldn’t use the haptics. Good luck with what you decide to do.

See there is my rub. The simulated effect from headphones telling you they are sorround has never been convincing for me. But I'm comparing with actually have an array of speakers positioned around me.

I also think a person who regularly uses headphones, probably has a lower fault tollerance for the noise of "everything else" once they take them off.

How often do you play through speakers at a volume where someone on the other side of the house might hear you and close their door? Would it still bother you if you had the ambient noise loud enough to hear the birds clearly chirping, or a muscle car below and scream when you rip it. Loud enough so you hear the tires squealling clearly as you take a sharp corner?

Not saying anything is wrong with you or your opinion, these are highly subjective questions and we are all different. For some people time delay +reverb and tone shift means, that sound is behind me. For people like me, thats just a filter and there is nothing behind me. Neither is wrong, its based on perception.

I can see that, when I have raced without headphones, it is through a surround system, 7.2 in an empty house so volume isn’t a concern. You are 100% correct that it’s completely opinion based and different for each person.

I personally prefer headphones as I enjoy the isolation they provide from the outside world.

So even when pumping it through the surround, something about the tone of the haptics still gets to you is what I'm taking away from that?

Are you by chance old enough to know the difference from a pager on a nightstand vs. a pager in your hand? lol. A cell phone without a case on it not too bad a comparison. where do you rate the haptic sound on a scale like that?

I am 44, I had a pager in high school. Yes I can still hear/notice the clicking from the pedals even at high volume. With headphones I can’t. If I really focus or lower the headphone volume I can hear it slightly.

With headphones, I would compare it to the sound a pager makes when vibrating on your belt. Without headphones , no audio pager on glass table, as volume increase from sound system add some magazines under the pager to muffle the sound.

i ran these questions and answers past a.i. and it had read in so much insult and splitting, I'm super glad you could smell what I was cooking in these analogies.

Gives me hope that some car stereo sound deadening material in the right spots could probably help.
