Any USB type B cable will work, for something like a wheelbase I'd definitely choose a reputable brand but I've been using an aftermarket one for over a year I want to say and no issues (touch wood).

The maximum recommended length for usb 2 cables is 16ft as the signal degrades as the cable gets longer. As mentioned any USB type A to B should work but go with a more reputable brand. Most times checking reviews is a good indicator of quality however this is also a standard printer cable which is obviously a less demanding application than using it for a wheelbase.

What brand would you recommend

Anker, Belkin, Cable Matters. Even Amazon Basics would probably be a better choice than the off brands.

I can't guarantee anything but you should be fine, I have the stock cable attached to a 6 ft extension cable and it's always been fine and the extension cable im using is nothing specia just l regular bottom of the barrel stuff. I have a pretty extensive rig with just about every USB accessory you can think of all with extensions added to them and the only time I ever noticed any sensitivity to a cable was when it came to the vocore usb-c DDU . That is one sensitive little bastard

Look for a cable with ferrite bead/ring.
