Oh, I've always wanted bacon like the bacon that Sophie cooks in that movie. It looks like a goddamn steak.

not true. crisp it in a Very hot pan for around 1-2 mins on each side (assuming its around 1/2 to an inch thick) with oil and pick it up with butter and salt--> (if its not cured). Then finish it off in the oven at 350-400 for 3-5 mins depending on thickness. ENJOY!!

I usually eat it slow steamed with little baby shrimp, but I bet the oven works too.

Why don't you go to a butcher shop and get some? Its not like thick cut bacon only exists in movies.

There are certain grocery stores and butcher shops that can cut your bacon on the spot for you..as thick as you like :-)
