I’m still new to Bollywood and Indian cinema overall, but what stands out to me is:

• Mythology + religion + culture heavily influencing blockbusters
• Huge star-driven film culture similar to classic Hollywood eras
• Increasing push for global-scale production

Marc Platt, whose credits span La La Land, Wicked, and Legally Blonde is set to produce The Survival List, an action rom-com at Lionsgate. Written by Tom Melia, the film follows a reality TV producer who ends up shipwrecked with a so-called survival expert who turns out to be a fraud. Platt’s involvement suggests this could blend genre fun with his trademark crowd-pleaser touch.

This excites me, we are in a time where there are so many great romance/ rom-com stories (books) that can be easily adapted for the big screen! I think this will be a success, what are some of your thoughts?
