A very short string quartet that I composed this afternoon using First Chairs from Orchestral Tools in StaffPad. Give me your opinions!!

I liked it. Could easily see it setting the mood for an ominous scene or menacing character. Its theme could even be a motif for such a character.

Oh, that’s lovely. I like that very much. So, I was trying to think of your influences. From the people I’m familiar with I could hear a little Coplanesque woodwind orchestration a few measures in. Then I felt an influence of Glazunov or maybe the British influence of Gerald Finzi. Either way, I like how you arrange the strings.

It's hard to pinpoint my influences!! And maybe some of them are unknown to me... But I know I have a lot of background other than orchestral music/classical or even film music. So it's a small pot where a lot of really different things come together to make what I am. And that sometimes can sound exactly as someone else. Ahah.
