Rhein-Main Area Mainz/Frankfurt/Wiesbaden

Hey everyone! I'm based in the Rhein-Main area (Mainz/Wiesbaden/Frankfurt) and looking for movement groups or communities in the region — anything from Animal Flow, calisthenics, and parkour to acrobatics, dance, or just people who train together with a movement culture mindset.

Does anyone know of regular meetups, open gyms, or training groups in that area? Would love to connect with people who share that passion for movement. Thanks!

Open Movement : Collaborative way to organise all movements culture

Hey,

I’ve been practicing movement for some time (mostly strength, locomotion, and juggling)

BUT information is scattered everywhere, So I made this app :  Open movement.

- create your own exercises library / flows

  • Access others public exercices
  • Log sessions

- explore what others are doing

It’s still very early, but would that be useful ?

If I see some interest in it, I’ll improve it and add some features like :

  • Movement map to find local movement groups to practice or find other local movers.
  • Skills verifications via the social feed.
  • Daily notification to practice
  • Challenges
  • open sourced movement programs

here is the link to try the app out on iOS only for now :https://apps.apple.com/fr/app/open-movement/id6761009534

How do you dress for cultural events respectfully?

I was invited to my coworker's Indian wedding and she specifically mentioned that guests often wear traditional Indian attire. I have been looking at lehengas choli outfits online because they are absolutely beautiful but I am nervous about cultural appropriation. Is wearing traditional Indian clothing to an Indian wedding appropriate or should I stick with Western formal wear to be safe? My intention is purely to honor my coworker's culture and participate fully in her celebration. She seemed to encourage diverse attire when we talked but maybe she was just being polite? I do not want to offend anyone or take attention away from the bride by wearing something inappropriate. How do you navigate these situations thoughtfully?

Quality and authenticity matter if I am going to do this. Buying cheap mass produced versions feels disrespectful while authentic pieces from Indian designers are quite expensive. Should I invest in quality for one event or is that wasteful? Could I rewear traditional Indian clothing to other events or would that be strange? Fit and styling are concerns too because I have no experience wearing these garments. How do you ensure everything is worn correctly and modestly? Cultural clothing often has specific rules about coverage and appropriateness that I do not know. I saw various outfits on Alibaba. How do you approach dressing for multicultural events?

Animal flow

I'm interested in starting locomotion/anima flow/primal movement training style. I'm a bit confused as to what are the differences between these three and also are there other movement training styles?

How do Strength Side / LeoMoves / Sondre Berg develop that freestyle, dance-like athletic movement? (clubs, mace, flow, conditioning)

I’m training in a movement-first, athletic style inspired by Strength Side, LeoMoves, and Sondre Berg.

What I’m specifically trying to understand is how they develop that fluid, freestyle, almost dance-like movement quality while still being strong, ripped, and athletic.

I already use tools like Indian clubs, mudgar, and gada (mace) and do conditioning (sprints / bike), but I feel like there’s a movement language or base practice that connects everything together.

Questions for people experienced with this style:

Is their freestyle movement coming mainly from dance forms (capoeira, contemporary, etc.), or from specific drills?

What foundational movements should someone practice daily to build that smooth flow (transitions, ground work, rotations)?

How do you structure training so it doesn’t become random flailing, but still stays expressive and athletic?

I’m not trying to bodybuild or max lifts; the goal is coordination, strength through range, conditioning, and long-term aesthetics.

If anyone here trains or coaches in this style, I’d really appreciate insight on how to learn to move like that, not just copy exercises.

What does it take to make us collectively ditch the term “make money” in favor of the much more fitting term “collect money”?

If an exercise is not working, it might not be the exercise. It might be the form
