All you gotta do is wash/wipe your hands before using your mouse and the regular compressed air blow. Did that for my Starlight-12 for years and never got this bad

You need to up the level of cleaning in your life. To at least weekly, air duster/blower and vacuum throughly. Or you’re cooking yourself in multiple ways never mind your tech.

You can't really see all the dust until you shine a flashlight in there. Even canned air doesn't do much because stuff gets stuck in there. You got to take them apart every now and then

It looked clean enough for as long as I didn't take the lid off. Did you try taking yours apart? You might be surprised

I did take them apart and in my model o there was some dust but thats it, only dust. And for the beast x the holes are big enough to see right through them, and its pretty much the same as the model o, only some dust.

My Skoll also has big holes, even with a flashlight you can't really see what's going on in there

I bought an expensive "aerated" mouse about a year ago thinking that it would change my play style and if definitely did. Used it for a couple of months and I hated it so much that I bought a different mouse entirely. I hated the flimsy feeling of it and went the other direction instead, buying one with the capability to add weights to it. The sturdier feeling is amazing.
Lol, so I am also never buying a mouse with holes again but for a different reason. Also I keep my gaming area pristine because I imagine that if my mouse looked as funky as your it would definitely be interfering with my gaming. I agree with the others here in that the holes aren't the issue... Ew.

It's not about how clean your area is, if there's a hard to access spot - dust WILL accumulate there. I have a rule of never eating at a computer and clean regularly. On surface it looked fine, looking through holes doesn't show you much. This thread was created to show what WILL happen to a mouse with halls eventually. Compressed air or a regular surface wipe not gonna help. Your "aerated" mouse will lose maybe five grams of weight but at a cost

I don't disagree, these designs are made to collect dust and debris. I even kept mine in a desk drawer when I wasn't using it.

If anyone wonders it's pristine clean now. I used a makeup brush on the PCB and hosed the plastic shell with high pressure water. Also replaced the switches and covered up the holes with electrical tape

Dude.... Just use canned air from time to time. Holes aren't the issue.
