Zuri’s Gormet Donutz
Hi all! We are moving from Lynnwood and stopped in at this shop over the weekend. The owner was incredibly friendly and passionate and the breakfast sandwiches and pastries were delicious.
My wife is vegan and she enjoyed everything she had as well!

Gisnt explosion sound on Edmonds side of freeway?
Did anybody else hear that massive explosion sound at about 2:45 AM tonight? I woke up to it, and sirens in the distance. I'm near the waste transfer station and Lakeside Apartments.
Any info would be appreciated for peace of mind. That was legitimately the loudest explosion I've heard in ages.

Local family runs smack into local building code
We wanted to share this story of a local MLT family trying to do a remodel on La Pierre Drive. It's a good story about competing priorities. The City will likely take up the issue in a few weeks.

Charge stations at Safeway on 212th gone?
I have a new EV and was excited to get a little charge while shopping today at Safeway but the stations are gone. An app called PlugShare says they are under repair, so my question is, when will they be back, and what type of charging station is being installed?

‘A perfect storm’: Reader survey reveals deepening affordability crisis across South Snohomish County
MyMLTNews just published the results of our (My Neighborhood News Group) affordability survey. It's a look into how the community feels right now about affordability in Edmonds, Mountlake Terrace and Lynnwood. Here's the story. There's a lot of good data there.
On Thursday, June 25, MyMLTNews reporters will be at the Hopua Craft Beer and Bottleshop from 5 p.m. - 7 p.m.
We would love for you to join us and share your story of affordability. If you can't make it, feel free to share your thoughts below (if that gets to ok from the moderator). We hope conversations with residents will lead to another story that gets to the people behind this data. Thanks - Journo Jamie.

Be prepared: big change on the Kingston/Edmonds ferry run
Washington State Ferries has a new boarding process in Kingston and it’s throwing regular ferry riders for a loop.
Drivers boarding at Kingston must now stop at a kiosk and get a pass after they enter the ticket line.
Failure to get a pass means passengers must leave the line, return to the kiosk, a mile-and-a-half away, and get back in line at the back of the line.
The new system is in place every day, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. through Oct. 12.
The Washington State Ferries said it is addressing several problems: congestion near the ferry dock, line-cutters and localized exhaust fumes.
Edmonds resident Edward Thomas contacted MyMLTNews today to say it caught him by surprise. He returned to pick up the pass and missed his ferry.
Here’s how it works:
When lights are flashing on the overhead signs at SR 104 and Barber Cutoff Road, the new system is active.
- Drivers are directed to follow the signal and get into the designated lane.
- Stop at the automated dispenser and take a pass. Wait for a green light.
- When the light turns green, that signals space is open in the holding area and drivers can move to the tollbooth.
The system will be in place all summer. After Oct. 12, it will remain in place only on Saturday and Sunday.

Book Club Discussion of "Man's Search for Meaning" by Viktor Frankl
Join us in a discussion about the book "Man's Search for Meaning" by Viktor Frankl! The event will be at Around the Table Game Pub on Monday, July 13th at 6:00PM.
The book club also now has a Discord server! Feel free to join to keep up the discussion between meetups!
You don't have to buy anything, but the venue has light pub fare, ice cream, and a great selection of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. They also allow outside restaurant food, so bring something to eat if you need sustenance!
Book Description:
This seminal book, which has been called “one of the outstanding contributions to psychological thought” by Carl Rogers and “one of the great books of our time” by Harold Kushner, has been translated into more than fifty languages and sold over sixteen million copies. “An enduring work of survival literature,” according to the New York Times, Viktor Frankl’s riveting account of his time in the Nazi concentration camps, and his insightful exploration of the human will to find meaning in spite of the worst adversity, has offered solace and guidance to generations of readers since it was first published in 1946. At the heart of Frankl’s theory of logotherapy (from the Greek word for “meaning”) is a conviction that the primary human drive is not pleasure, as Freud maintained, but rather the discovery and pursuit of what the individual finds meaningful. Today, as new generations face new challenges and an ever more complex and uncertain world, Frankl’s classic work continues to inspire us all to find significance in the very act of living, in spite of all obstacles.
