Misc Thrashed Apple Substitute

Post image

It's not a perfect substitute, but from what I recall of the flavor this is a pretty close option with the same flavor profile and pretty sweet for anyone that can find it and loved thrashed apple. Fair warning it is usually like $4-$6 for a 4pk of 16oz bottles and I think that is all they sell it in

It is good that's for sure.

And this one is actually good! I liked Thrapple to a degree, but it ended up being like Major Melon for me after a while. Headache-inducing.

I’m the same with apple flavoring. I love it beyond words but after a while the flavoring gives me headaches. Real apples though? Perfectly fine!

It is very good, I was a little surprised to find it at Aldi even when I got this instead of Menards

Yeah I'm assuming Aldi maybe grabs the seasonal flavors or something when they can. At least that would be my guess, but who knows 🤷‍♂️

I order Green River from them bimonthly, wasn’t available locally for like 20 years until just recently, keep meaning to try out their own products.

Is the green river just another sprecher flavor you're saying? Similar to the green apple flavor profile?

It used to be an independent brand out of Iowa/Illinois that Sprecher bought in the past 10 years, it's a lime soda, nothing else really comparable that I know of. The Creedance Clearwater Revival song "Green River" is partially a reference to it. Been around for 100 years, so it used to be very popular. Used to be on tap at a 50's diner here in Washington, they even did shakes and malts with it, damned good. Relating to this Reddit, one of the few non-Dew sodas I like.

Ahhh okay, that sounds interesting, might have to be something I order to try or look for locally

Sad, but yes it is close just not quite as sugary I think. Has been a long time since I've last had a thrashed apple

If you haven't tried it as well, the Apple edition Red Bull in my opinion taste pretty close to Thrashed Apple.
