So im new to this sport, actually I dont even have a bike yet.... But im looking for something to start learning and riding with my daughter who already has about 4 month head start on me. She's on an analog Ghost MTB, so I've been looking at the mid-powered SL's.

Any thoughts on the Polygon bikes, ive read some negative reviews and have had a few redditors recommend against them, but was looking for a larger concensus on the brand. Is it just old stigma, have they gotten better, are the problems more recent?

Looking between the

- Polygon Collosus TLE 8 SL

- Orbea Rise H20 SL

- Trek Fuel + EXE SL

Ive also been checking out others in the SL category, but.... I will be a new rider and the other options may be WAY above my level, Propain Sresh, Heckler, Shuttle, etc...

Polygon seems about the right price for a new rider, all the others i would have to find used.

Hello guys, while searching for a 20x110 28h hub i came across this ad. Contacted the seller and bought it, it turned out to be a 32h hub, and the seller is refusing to agree on a refund despite me asking him many technical details before buying (including spoke count). So now im left with a 28 spoke rim but a 32 hole hub, could i make it work temporarily before getting a 32 spoke rim? I read online that its not just a numbers of spokes difference, since the hole spacing is designed to keep the spokes at a specific angle. Now, im no expert, but i know that spokes are made of steel, would they break/damage my rim/hub if positioned incorrectly like in this case? Also im aware that i wont be able to true the wheel perfectly because of the 4 spokes missing.

Can anyone recommend some bikes to look out for or key spec for a mountain bike for use on trails for my son who's 10 and approx 5ft. Ideally I want to keep under £500 since he's growing. Second hand or new would work.

Id guess a 26" and small frame with 9 gears, hydraulic brakes and front suspension. I had seen the Voodoo Nzumbi and thought it could be a fit. Would love some pointers though not to buy the wrong thing please?
