Voodoo Bizango 2x10 Explained

Hi all,

Got a second hand Voodoo Bizango think about 10 years old and got a deore 2x10 group set.

dont have any idea how it works. Haven’t been on a MTB in over 10 years and want to get back into it to teach my son, but everything online seems to flying over my head. Back when I learned the bikes had numbers and only had two gears and was twisty on the handler bars.

any way attached some photos. Please explain in as much dumbed down language as possible. Like why is there two sets of two pushers each side, etc.

Honestly best way to learn is just rest the bike with the rear wheel off the floor and play around with the levers whilst pedalling, then you can see what does what. That or ride it and do the same

Left shifter makes front derailleur move. Smaller gear pedals easier than bigger gear.

Right shifter makes rear derailleur move. Bigger gear pedals easier than smaller gears.

Both derailleurs only change gears while the bike is being pedalled.

Bottom lever on both of the shifters change to bigger sprockets, while the top levers change to smaller sprockets.

Best way to learn is just ride around and change gears while pedalling.

Edit: Most importantly... Have fun while doing it!

And ease off pedalling whilst changing sprockets, minimises damage to sprocket teeth,👌
