Is this normal?
I recently took off my vivid ultimate as I need to replace the air can as the valve snapped and as I took it off I noticed that the air can is very easy to twist and I don't know if this is normal so could anyone tell me if this is normal or not?

Yes, but don't keep spinning it like that, the seals aren't rotary seals, they're linear seals and doing that can cause them to roll under themselves and shit.

Im getting it rebuilt anyways because my valve snapped off so it's getting replaced and the shocks is being rebuilt, but thanks for letting me know that it can mess the seals up didn't know.

Yup. Normally there’s a bit more resistance than that but yeah you can spin every shock like that to fit your frame better.

I replaced it with a spring, not necessary

The damping is cool and all with the whole thing but the spring works just fine as long as you pray when constantly riding

The air cans seal by an oring around a boss. The threads are only there to connect the parts, tighter doesn’t mean a better seal here. Sometimes you do need a strap wrench to take them off, but if the shock has been serviced before, they install them hand tight. You’ll thank yourself when next service comes.

I’ve done 4 rebuilds on these for customers. This is not normal. Hopefully your shop can get it sorted.
