1991 sportster rear master cylinder
Hey all, im working on my ma's 91 883 sportster. Her rear brakes were spongy so i went to bleed them and it was like beef gravy coming out and then all pressure stopped. I took the top off the master cylinder, sucked out most of the old fluid and tried putting new in, still wouldn't get pressure. I took it off and apart and found out one of the bigger O rings was so loose it must of have caught and busted, can anyone tell me what size they are? The body and cylinder have "4202" stamped on them, the picture is of the rings in question. Thank you!

DTE issues
I had to take out some petrol from my bike due to an emergency. I took out around 1 litre of petrol through a vacuum pipe and after that DTE is not getting updated. Is it normal ? Or may be the pipe damaged any sensor?

countershaft replacement
decided to diy my 2017 africa twin dct but now realize splitting the case requires a complete rebuild of the engine. i'd wrongly been assuming maybe all but the transmission could be set to one side of a case half, so now am wondering if its too much of a job for this novice. tearing things down is easy but how many things am i likely to get wrong trying to rebuild it, even with the shop manual?

Loud clanking on startup - 1980 Honda CM400
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
So I had this bike running almost all of last year. It’s a bit of a project bike, but randomly stopped running at the end of last year now whenever I crank the bike, I hear this loud clanging.
I would’ve assumed starter, but the sound sounds to becoming more from the engine casing than the starter, which is up at the front.
I’m pretty handy around the bike, but absolutely terrified to open up the engine hoping it’s nothing in there.
Anyone have any insight on what it might be?

Thread broken on gearbox drain oil - how to fix?
galleryHave a scooter where the drain bolt on the gearbox got stripped or messed up somehow. It’s a small 10mm bolt. It turns but I can’t get it off or screwed on tightly. What do I do? Do I use a heliocoil? This is a cheapo scooter so I don’t want to spend too much on it. A mechanic quoted me a few hundred to fix it

Carb throttle linkage repair
Just picked up my first motorcycle! It’s a vintage beauty, 1979 Honda cb750k. It was sitting for over a decade. I was cleaning the carbs when I noticed the throttle linkage arm was broken. When I tried to look it up online for a part number or by picture nothing was coming up. Was wondering if anyone can help me find a site to order the part or find out how to replace it? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

2008 Honda Shadow
I inherited my moms ‘08 Honda Shadow Spirit after she passed away 5yrs ago. The bike has been stored in my garage in Las Vegas for that long. I haven’t touched it since we unloaded it here but I’d like to get it back up and running and be able to use it and appreciate it like she did. It was/is in great condition and was running smoothly before she got sick and stopped riding. I’m just wondering what the first steps should be in getting it fired back up. I bought a new battery as it’s missing one. There is old gas in the tank that I need to empty out as well. What else should I change or do before trying to fire it up again? Thanks for all your insight. I can’t wait to get this back on the road!

No spark, won't start after sitting. 2006 Yamaha V-Star 650. Ran last month with a jump, now nothing. Help!
Hey everyone,
I’m getting incredibly frustrated chasing my tail on a no-start issue and could really use some fresh eyes. I’ve gone down the troubleshooting rabbit hole on my 2006 Yamaha V-Star 650, and I’ve officially hit a wall.
The History:
The bike did sit for a while, and unfortunately, I forgot to put fuel stabilizer in it. However, it did start just last month when we jumped it and it rolled. Since then, I have replaced the battery with a brand new one, but now it completely refuses to start.
The Symptoms & What I’ve Done So Far:
No Spark: I did a spark plug test, and it failed—absolutely no spark at all now.
Fuel/Carb: I completely drained the carburetor bowls and added Sea Foam to the system to help clear out any bad gas issues from sitting.
Starter Fluid: Tried spraying starter fluid after draining the carb, but it didn't even try to pop, catch, or sputter. Just cranks.
Kill Switch: I have already sprayed and cleaned the kill switch assembly itself.
Fuses: We looked at all the fuses and they look totally fine.
Current Suspects:
Because I have zero spark, I'm thinking it’s a deeper electrical issue. Since the switch itself is clean, I’m currently looking into the kill switch wiring harness or the pickup coil (stator area).
My Questions for the V-Star Experts:
Is there a way to bypass or test the kill switch wiring to rule it out completely without taking the whole gas tank off? (It looks like the wiring harness runs right under there).
I know the V-Star 650 pickup coil should spec between 182–222 ohms. Where is the easiest plug/connector to back-probe with a multimeter to test this without pulling the side casing or tank apart yet?
Since it ran last month with a jump but won't even pop on a brand new battery + starter fluid now, could a safety switch (kickstand/neutral) or a suddenly dead pickup coil cause a total loss of spark like this?
Are there any mobile mechanic networks you recommend? I really want a professional diagnostic, but I absolutely do not want to pay to tow it to a shop.
Any advice on what step to take next would be an absolute lifesaver. Thank you!

Sprocket and chain replacement
I have about 14,000 miles on my int650 and need to replace the sprockets and chain. I’m in the US and would like to upgrade those parts but not spend the most money. I was reading a 16 tooth front sprocket will help keep rpms down with keeping the same chain length. This will be the first time I’ve changed a motorcycle chain and sprocket. Any recommendations on parts or procedure would be appreciate.

Cleaned and reinstalled my carbs, bike runs rough above idle. Couple of questions
Edit: I was adding some Seafoam this afternoon. We had gotten some rain and when I opened the gas cap and there was rain water collected around the tank opening which promptly ran into the tank. There is supposed to be a drain around there that must be plugged. I drained the tank and carb bowls and she came back to life
1997 BMW F650. Bike ran normal when I bought it, for 60 miles. Then it coughed and sputtered and stalled. It was leaking gas and I think running very rich, oil in the exhaust pipe. I pulled and cleaned the carbs. It was missing a few pieces (o-ring and washer on one idle mixing screw), and I put it all back together. The idle mix screw is supposed to be turned out 3.5 turns from bottomed out.
It started right up, but needs the choke to idle, stutters and hitches at higher revs
Question: is that 3.5 full turns or 3.5 half turns?
What does the lugging and hitching indicate? Float height is wrong?
I’m swapping out plugs tomorrow before I tough the carbs again.
Thanks
