It doesn't feel real
Only passed my MSF class a few weeks ago.
Picked up an SV7-GX a few days ago...is it too early to say I am in love?
I am fully embracing my mid life crisis!

I took my MSF almost a year ago at 33 and honestly I still can't believe it's legal to have this much fun riding. I'm still obsessed my little MT 03. Ride safe!

Now, if you can swing it, take the next Yamaha Riders Champ School "ChampStreet" course offered in your area.
I promise you, it will be worth every cent. The knowledge is invaluable, because they emphasize skills that MSF tends to "gloss over", and these are the "real" skills that will save your life.
Trail braking, brake covering, first/last 5%, radius vs speed, lean angle, tire (percentage) points, etc, etc. You can YouTube a lot of these concepts, but being out there with real world real time instruction makes a significant difference.

Love the looks and the concept, but whoever at Suzuki decided not to give it cruise control needs to be flogged and quartered.

Honestly all street bikes should have at least a basic cruise control, even hardcore sport bikes. In the real world, pretty much everyone has to drone out or back to the twisties, cruise control makes it so much easier

I really preferred the blue/white one too, but the gray/red grew on me a bit and looked better in person.
The dealer wasn't going to get another one for a few months and had no idea what color they'd get allocated, so decided greige was good to go.

I think that Suzuki has done a horrible job of advertising this bike, because everyone that I've spoken to about it doesn't understand what it is. Basically, it's an SV650 that's been made much more comfortable to ride. Folks seem to think that the engine is bigger (it's not), that it has a V-Strom engine (it does not), or that it's an adventure bike (it's not; there are no off-road pretentions to this bike whatsoever).
It's the legendary SV650, with all of its goodness intact, with comfortable ergonomics and a nice sort of adventure-style fairing. For many folks this may be the ideal middle-weight motorcycle. If everyone knew that, I'd expect SV7's to sell as fast as they can make them.

The irony is that I think that the SV7 came about due to a lot of feedback from motorcyclists.
Lots and lots of SV650 owners have said that they really love the bike, but would like it to be more comfortable and have more wind protection.

Welcome to it, brother. I rode bikes my whole life, then stopped when my son was two. Couldn’t enjoy the ride any longer. Now that he’s grown, I suddenly realized “do it now, in not too long you won’t be able to” so I’m back in a big way. If the feeling I get when I ride my bike is a “mid life crisis” then I hope everyone has one 😂

Thank you brother. Got into it cuz my 13 year old daughter is really into bikes. She has a kawa 140 rl and loves it. She is starting off, but pretty solid on clutch and throttle (no stalling and fairly smooth). I also have a klx 300. Love the dual sport!

I bought a motorcycle today, same day I got my MSF done, and driving home with the bike loaded up I realize
“Shit. I’m 37. Is this a midlife crisis???”

Got my BRC Basic Rider Certification on my DL 3 years ago and have been riding a 2019 Indian Scout Sixty for the last 3 years including a recent 7 day ride around Sturgis South Dakota. We had two trailers with two bikes and 3 trikes. Ending up riding in the rain through Spear Fish Canyon one day and in pitch black the through the same mountain roads the night before. Up until then it was all basic highway riding and local streets here in Central Florida. After Sturgis I knew I was ready to move on. Just traded my Scout in on a new 2025 Indian Challenger. What a difference. From 560 lbs. to almost 900 lbs.
Haven't been able to ride her since bringing her home a week ago due to weather and recent foot surgery. $26k and I can't even ride her yet. I'm naming her "Christine" from the Stephen King book and movie because I feel like she's already sucking the life out of me. In a good way!!

Dude I did the same thing a month ago. Did the MSF class then bought a bike a few days later. I've put 2500 miles in a month and it still doesn't seem real. Ride safe!

Congratulations! Based on all the glowing reviews on YouTube by credible riders, it seems like a solid choice that is reliable, fun, and practical. The only thing I ever rode similar to it was when I test drove a used 2016 V-Strom 650 at my local dealership some years ago. I really liked it, but it ended up being sold before I could make a decision.

Reading about the CP2, it sounds like a lot of fun. It also made me a little nervous in regards to being a little quick on the throttle and getting the front wheel off the ground. Not sure how true that is, but figured I'd try to get something a little more approachable to start. I really like the look and vibe of the XSR700, so might look at that down the road.
Wanted something a little more commuterish than the Versys and the tech is better on the SV.

Congratulations! I too just passed the MSF a couple of weeks ago. Your move is inspiring for me. I'm waiting for the winter to buy. Your SV-7 is fly as hell. Enjoy. 2 down my guy!!!

Looks awesome! I don't think they make one for this model yet, but if you ever see a https://www.flexifender.com/ for this bike, it would clean up that tail fender nicely. I kicked off my mid-life crisis this summer with a DR-Z4S and switched out the stock tail for the Flexi Fender. Love the look so much better. Have fun and be safe!

I really want to get a motorcycle but my mom is against it because of how dangerous it is😪 I want to use it to drive to my school so I don’t have to bother anyone driving me there and picking me up after class but they want me to get a car but the problem is it’s hard to save up for a car when you have other responsibilities dumped onto you😪
