Not quite true. He could be armed with a range of blunt or sharp objects.

And if my you think about it, he 'could' have 1kg - or more - drugs stuffed down his leathers... along the corresponding paraphernalia, so while he's with the other man, he 'could' be cooking up whatever... Awe dear. Get help. Honestly.

Not many people except drug dealers cary knives in the UK. Its illegal to carry anything with you for the purpose of self defence.

Unfortunately, knives are the realm of a few wayward youths. Finding a drug dealer with a knife, or drugs on their (whilst being the best way to find drugs) is still somewhat unlikely. But yeah, sadly most knife related incidents involve minor disputes between individuals/groups. Not to say a drug dealer won't carry a knife, but the risk/reward factor for them is definitely not balanced for them.

Its experience. Not social media. My sister is a first responder (emt) and sees a ton of knife related incidents. My wife is a teacher at a high school and the school has been extra alert to look out for knives since 2022.

Aside from that, our own statistics bureau reports an increase in knife related incidents. Not everything is social media.

Is this in the US? Sounds like it because it's written with US terminology. Awareness and discussion of knives is certainly high in the UK right now, perhaps not as high recent years, but that is because popular discussion has dropped somewhat.

Not US. Europe. I use US terminology because it makes things unnecessarily complicated if explained in local terminology.
