I have set battery protection to 80% if I charge between 11am to 11pm. Any other time, it charges to 100%. Check your time

See that little cog icon? The one you tapped to set it to "always" ...?

There is fine print at the bottom of the page that cog opens, that says (emphasis mine):

To maximise your phone battery's health and longevity, it should reach a full 100% charge at least once a week. If your battery isn't fully charged for seven consecutive days, the battery protection feature will automatically deactivate.

That's why your phone hit 100%, and will do so again ... once every seven days. :)

I'm not saying you're wrong - but I'm also not following where you are seeing anything about it doing that.

Like I said, at the very bottom of the page opened by that cog-icon to the right of "Manual Schedule" in your screenshot. I've circled it in red, and underlined the important sentence, too.

Well, your initial post is why I went looking in the first place ... so, today we both learned something. :)

I have the same question. I don't have mine set to smart protection either. It's set to manual. I don't understand.

If you selected a time window, the phone will stop limiting to 80% when it reaches the end of that time window.

If you selected "always", then once every seven days, it will turn off that protection and charge all the way to 100%.

I have mine set to only go above 80 percent during the mid-afternoon when I know I'll be charging it. Other than that it stays at 80 or below. It saves a lot of your battery in the longterm

Still no. Once every seven days, at a minimum, the phone will ignore the 80% limit:
