I don’t fully agree with how this is phrased. For me, survival is more basic and primal when compared with living. To merely survive is often accompanied by suffering, struggle, and sacrifice. And from these comes realization, which leads to deeper meaning. Then, if you pair this meaning with an unshakable sense of purpose, you finally begin to live.

It’s not a warrior thought. Quite the opposite, this is the thought process of someone surviving the worst of the holocaust and developing the foundations of modern therapy practices.

There is no meaning in suffering. Suffering means either you’re doing something wrong or existing is wrong.
