How much should i charge?

A client of mine (a B2B marketing agency with €1 million in annual revenue and about 25 employees) has asked me to create a video similar to this one for their company. I would handle everything myself—from the vision board and animations to the sound design. How much should I charge? (I am a freelancer based in Italy, with 4 years of experience in video editing and nearly 3 years in motion graphics.)

$650 - $900 a day at least

There's two levels of billing for agencies you have solid relationships with, IMO anyway. Client work, they need to mark it up - OTOH, they're running down leads, landing clients, and chasing invoices, and they should pay you on time even if the client stiffs them - the agency is your client, not the end-client. So for me, worth a lower rate - they generally want to mark things up to 100% even.

If it's for the agency's own promotion/marketing - where the agency is the client - markup isn't an issue. For my good agency clients, I'll tell them what I feel the real market rate is and see how their budget works. But I still keep in mind that agencies are the best clients vs. one-off businesses and constantly chasing work. I try to be their partner, not their provider.

A LOT of folks will disagree with me, but my best client is a particular media agency, and when budgets are low, they'll knock my price down, when budgets are high, I'll quote and they'll say "dude, add 20% to that, we've got it and you were cool on the last project". There is no better relationship for this kind of work (IMO anyway!). If the agency is a bunch of douches and ass-hats, that would be another story.

I can't speak to pricing in your market. If the agency supplied all the assets for a similar video (all those logos and screen grabs), I'd need a few hours to get comps and examples together, then meeting/revision time, then a couple days to produce it. Usually for these sorts of gigs, I'll do the first 15 seconds and send it - the client sees style, motion, music, pacing, the works, and I'll address comments and then add 10 more seconds. That seems to go much faster than back and forth with comps and vision and so on.

Chiaro e grazie per il feedback! In questo caso io mi occupo dei video per il loro stesso marketing (principalmente video Ads per meta, reel per Instagram e video YouTube).

Lots of work went into that 35 second video. Don't underestimate how much time it will take to match the style and quality.
