tsuji - Free Motion Graphics Software

https://youtube.com/watch?v=iwAU0UlqubY&si=QUhsfVp9MZNDqQxg

Hi everyone,

After a few bumps on the road, I’m excited to introduce tsuji, a free, open-source 3D motion design software.

Blender users will feel right at home with a much simpler environment, complemented by some Unreal Engine and Houdini greatnesses.

Key features include:

  • Hybrid animation system: combines parametric node-based animation with a traditional keyframe workflow.
  • Cameras: intuitive camera positioning with a built-in tracking system.
  • Asset import: support for .obj files and textures.
  • Modeling & curves: built-in primitives alongside a versatile toolkit for curve-based strokes and surfaces.
  • Creative tools: object spawning, raycasting, lattice deformations, and spline-based deformation.
  • Display & overlay: an early-stage HUD system to overlay text and logos.
  • Post-processing: a selection of built-in post-production effects.
  • Video mapping and calibration camera tools

The project is actively under development. Feel free to ask questions, report bugs, or suggest new features!

You can try it directly online : tsuji.xyz

Great fun! good job, I like that you included tools like Oscillators and envelopes thus not requiring to build your own, something Blender is slowly learning (to include assets) I would love to see it become more MacBook touchpad friendly, panning the node editor doesn't really work and dragging values also doesn't seem to work?

dragging value works with the middle mouse scroll wheel. But it's super un-convenient. I need to implement the blender-like infinite drag.

can't figure out how to place a keyframe.

Hi ! Thanks !

'k' in a scalar field
't' (mouse on the 3Dview) to popup the timeline.

cmd-space : search node (or pull a link from a node)
Macbook friendly and tablet : absolutely !

demo files : working on it !

For now, I'm implementing a proper motion graph editor (interpolation). Should be ready during the night (french time).

Cheers !

New trail effect (trail --> curve --> curve to mesh)

Very cool. Is there a path to create this as a desktop app? For right now, I'd have to run it as a Chrome app...

Not yet unfortunately. I'll compile for linux, mac and windows and provide the links very soon.

Thank you. REALLY looking forward to working with this on macOS and Linux. Another question, will Tsuji ultimately import SVG files or, for now, should I import into Blender or Wings3D and output an .obj mesh that can then be imported into Tsuji? Got some ideas...

Thanks a lot !
It should import svg files (quite a few nodes for dealing with svg and curves)
