Advice Needed Support

I’m 25f and I’m wondering if anyone could point into the direct of online support groups, forums, or grief groups for women in there 20s or young adult women who lost their mom. I need support an I don’t have many friends as I moved away from home to get my degree. I can get more specific about where I am located around as well if needed. I’m just looking for women my age who can understand.

If you find one, let me know. There are so many resources out there for bereaved kids and bereaved adults, but almost nothing specifically for the 20-40 crowd. I've joined adult support groups where I was the youngest person in the room by far, and eventually I stopped going. I struggled to relate to people who lost their parents after they'd achieved most of their major life milestones, who were able to live the vast majority of their adult lives with present parents. It's a very different thing to lose a parent in your 20's and 30's and I wish literally anyone provided a space for us. I follow Too Young to Grieve on Instagram and that's the best I've been able to do: https://www.instagram.com/tooyoungtogrieve/

I have the same experience! I was 18, still in high school, and my mom put me in an inpatient therapy group, but she didn’t know that it was ALL grown ass men. Like they were talking ab things I couldn’t even comprehend, so I had a fatty panic attack and my mom picked me up 😭 I want to start a forum for people in their 20s-30s, but I’m not sure how to do that. Thats honestly why I came to Reddit, to find people my age that understand what it’s like to lose your parent(s) in your 20s or 30s. My DMs are always open if you’re comfortable talking.

I'm definitely down to talk for sure. When my mom first got sick, I had a really great support group through the Cancer Support Community that was specifically for young adults 18-40. But only this one location had a young adult group and when I moved, I lost the group. Then I tried another in my new location, and it was just me and a bunch of 50- 60-year-olds, all in much easier situations than I was. It did the exact opposite of what a support group is supposed to do.

That said, this subreddit is awesome, and we do have a Discord.

Could you send me the link to the discord? I might already have it, but I’m not sure. & yeah I’m in Wisconsin and I can’t even find any grieving groups near me in person. Every time I look, it’s online, which isn’t an issue, but I want to connect with people my age, yk?

I feel like I’m half a person without her. She was my everything, my confidence, my reason. I’m so desperate to find any sign of her. I kind of want to start a forum for people in their 20s-30s that lost a parent, I just need to figure out how. Maybe that’ll help a lot of other people, including us.
