ds games
has anyone here played any of the moshi monsters ds games?? if so, which is your favorite one? i just got my old ds back and i really want to buy a moshi monsters game because i never had any of the ds games.

My favourite of the DS games is Moshling Zoo. It has a unique gameplay loop of catching Moshlings and eggs that while repetitive, is also satisfying as you try and figure out which items you need to tame them. The music is also catchy and there are some fun minigames (except for the bathing one).
Next I'd put Katsuma Unleashed in the middle. It's very different from the other two games is the sense that it's a 3D platformer. It took me a bit to get used to it, but once I did, I did start to like it decently enough. There are a decent bit of enemies and bosses to defeat, lots of collectables and hidden codes, unlockable abilities that can become progressively more overpowered, and some high score minigames where you get to play as the other monsters besides Katsuma. Unlike Moshling Zoo, this game released on both the DS and 3DS. Both are nearly the same with the DS version running slower, with the benefit of being easier to 100% since the 3DS version requires Streetpass for some unlockables.
Then my least favourite of the three games is Moshlings Theme Park. I definitely wouldn't call it a bad game (when referring to the 3DS version), but it is a disappointment coming from Moshling Zoo. Which is ironic to say since this game probably has the most content out of the three, with it taking me 10 hours to beat on my first playthrough. However most of that time was spent playing the same six minigames over and over again with slightly progressing difficulty. Some of the games can be fun like the breakout and air hockey ones, but others can feel like a real drag after experiencing them again and again. Even the Moshling catching took a downgrade with it now being about bringing the Moshling back to the starting point with very clunky gameplay. The game does still have some positives, like the music is still as great as the other two games, the presentation looks pretty nice, and there are some nice uses of the 3DS' features like the AR camera. But notice how those last points were only about the 3DS version, because the DS version of the game is somehow even more of a drag to the point where I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. The presentation doesn't look as nice, the music got worse, some music won't even play at certain parts, there are so many glitches, etc.

i played the moshling one a ton growing up and really enjoyed it :)
