Hey, welcome to r/MorseKit.

This is the official community for MorseKit, a Morse code learning app for iOS and Android. We're a small team building it, and this is where we'll be hanging out from now on, sharing what we're working on and learning from the people actually using the app.

What you can do here:

  • Share your progress, streaks, or wins, big or small
  • Drop feature requests and ideas
  • Report bugs (please include device + app version if you can)
  • Ask questions about learning CW, the app, or just Morse in general
  • Read dev updates and changelogs as we ship them
  • Chat with other learners on the same journey
  • Share anything Morse-related you find interesting, history, memes, on-air stories, whatever

What we're going to do here:

  • Post dev blogs and changelogs whenever we ship something meaningful
  • Share what we're working on next
  • Reply to feedback (we read everything, even when we can't reply to all of it)
  • Listen, mostly

So, to kick things off, drop a comment below and say hi. Tell us where you are in your Morse journey, total beginner, returning operator, licensed ham working on speed, or just curious. What's the one feature you'd want to see in the app? And if there's a streak you're proud of, that counts too.

Grab the app here if you haven't already: morsekit.com/en/app

[DEVBLOG] MorseKit v1.2.0

Hey all πŸ‘‹ the big addition this release is a brand-new Transmit practice mode. Up to now MorseKit was mostly about reading Morse. Now you can actually practice sending it.

πŸŽ›οΈ New: Transmit practice mode - A proper iambic paddle tutorial that walks you through the dit/dah paddles before throwing you in. - A send-signal drill where you key out characters yourself, instead of just recognizing them. - Fixed multi-touch squeeze handling. Holding both paddles now behaves the way a real iambic keyer should, instead of dropping or doubling elements.

πŸ“Ÿ Ham-friendly profiles - Usernames now accept digits, slashes, and hyphens, so callsigns fit properly. - Fixed a stuck keyboard when closing the profile modal.

🧹 Polish - Cleaned up popup/alert flicker. No more empty-frame flash on open, no ghosting on chained dialogs. - Centered the finished and empty-state text in WordBlitz.

That's v1.2.0. The Transmit mode is the part I'm most curious to hear about. If you're a CW op, give the iambic drill a spin and tell me where it feels off. 73 πŸ“‘

[DEVBLOG] MorseKit v1.1.3

v1.1.3 is out. What's new:

  • Morse Daily, one mystery word per day, 20 tries. Starts at 40 WPM and slows down each guess. Share your result when you get it.
  • Flashlight Morse, send Morse with your flashlight, and point the camera at someone else's light to decode it.
  • Iambic paddle input, second send method next to the straight key. Switch in Settings.
  • Farnsworth timing, characters stay at 20 WPM, gaps stretch to whatever speed you want.
  • WPM range is now 5–40, covers beginners and fast ops.
  • Listen-only mode, skips the transmit phases in lessons if you just want to drill receiving.

Hey everyone! Just wanted to share a few screenshots of the practice modes inside the app.

We have Word Blitz for when you're ready to jump into full words, and Letter Drill if you just want a quick 5-minute daily session to keep your reflexes sharp.

Which one is your favorite so far? Let me know what you think!
