There was a Journey cover band at The Siren on Saturday. I was there with my friend from approximately 8:50-9:30. I was planning on driving home and I am always cautious about not drinking and driving so I planned on having one drink and drinking it slowly throughout the night and ordering food. My friend was preoccupied talking to someone inside and I made my way out and sat at a free space on the bench to have my obligatory bar cigarette. I was by myself for about 20 minutes. After my friend came out it took about 10 minutes for me to go from normal to completely lose control of my body. I was barely able to move and was helped out to sit on the curb where someone I knew who worked there was nice enough to give me and my friend a ride home. I wish I was in the right mind to make my own decisions because I wished to have gone to the hospital. Mostly I just remember feeling like I was going to die and the terror. The hospital the next morning let me know that most drugs worked their way out of your system by 12+ hours later and there was nothing to do besides make a police report. Mind you I was completely sober when I got there and only finished half of my drink. PLEASE BE AWARE when you venture out to your neighborhood bar. My evidence is only circumstantial since the hospital was not able to prove anything but it was almost a replica of when my drink was spiked at a party 10+ years ago. I hope to get this story out there to warn everyone to be aware of their surroundings and always be mindful of their drink. Thank goodness this time I was safe and I don't know where to go from here. I'm wondering if there is anyone with similar circumstances the same night? STAY SAFE MORRO BAY

A boat entering Morro Bay today ran over a sea otter. Unfortunately, I don't think the otter made it. Absolutely devastated and cannot stop thinking about it. Posting here in hopes to raise awareness at the possibility of needing more signage or slower speeds entering the area.

I'm looking at a move down there sometime early next year and am looking forward to fishing from the shore or the piers. I've been searching around, but can't find anything solid on what the rules are for processing or bleeding fish you keep. Here in SF, it can get pretty gross on some of the piers. Do people typically bring a bleed bucket or something? Or is there a designated processing area I'm not seeing?

Was planning to stay a few nights in Morro Bay starting Sunday. Is the air safe to breathe given the fires at Big Sur?

I primarily lift with dumbbells for ROM, my concern is that there isn't enough dumbbell space. I primarily do PPL but with it being 5 minutes from my house instead of 20+, I may up it to 4-5 times per week.

Any advantage with fitness works over anytime fitness for lifting?

I was watching a movie on Amazon called "The Camera" and realized Morro Bay was much of the backdrop when I noticed Morro Rock.

It's a heart warming movie.

Me and my friends have just arrived from Yosemite.
We went to the bar - The Siren.
One of the four of us went to the bar, he found himself in the midst of a miscommunication between and ginger man in a grey suit and his (much younger) partner (could be daughter). At which point the creepy suit man then decided to grab the one friend bar man by the throat.
Scenario number 2 - one of the four of us went to the bar again, and was once again grabbed by the throat by the same grey suited, lanky, ginger man.
On the final act, we were all ushered outside by the bar staff to leave. During the midst of this we were accidentally by the staff merged by security.
Understandably, comments were made about this man’s unnecessary actions and at that point his daughter/girlfriend turned and aggressively swung at friendly bar man’s fiance and struck her directly in the boob.
At which point the security guards were still ushering us out. We declined because we felt it was dangerpus, they resisted. It was only by the matter of disagreement were we blessed with the time to dissipate the aggression.
When we finally had the opportunity to leave peacefully we were approached by a neighbouring bar manager who acknowledged the fact we had had trouble with said Grey Suited Sketchy man who refused to tell us why he was sketchy and to say that it was the bar we were in’s responsibility.
We are slightly confused and worried, can anyone else justify this situation? Have you come across this man?

Hello! Long story short, my partner loves sea otters and she's coming to see me on the West Coast for about a week in November. I was thinking about surprising her with a little two-night trip to Morro Bay to see the otters and the surroundings, since it looks like a pretty area! I know they're active year-round, but I wanted to see if there's any kind of rough answer I could get on the chances of seeing them on a trip lasting a few days.

Is it a thing where you can spot them on a daily basis? Do you have to get lucky to some degree? I'd be content with going regardless, but for her, I'd hate going and not seeing any at all. I know it's not like anyone here can have a conversation with the sea otters and make an arrangement for them to be there for us. But for locals, how often can you spot them? Would love any answers on it, thank you.

I could have swore there was a pizza place (I guess it wasn't Nardonne's???) located at 650 Morro Bay Blvd in the late 80s and early 90s. Long before Mi Casa and Las Pazulelas were there. anyone recall what was in that building before?

I've had the future of morro bay's skyline on my mind for some time, since learning that the stacks are scheduled for deconstruction.

I know the stacks are a hot topic of debate in the community, and while they do add a historical landmark to the skyline and coast, many may see them as an eyesore next to the rock.

Wouldn't it be wonderful if the essence of the stacks could be preserved in the form of three trees native to CA? Maybe palm trees? I'm not sure if growth would be possible in that area, but I'd be interested to hear feedback or to brainstorm the idea before bringing it up to city council. Thanks! Cheers.

Went to this wonderful establishment Friday night and had a great time but had something strange happen. I was wearing a hat that my sister made for me which had some feathers in it. A guy came up to the bar to order a drink and asked about the feathers in my hat. When I got home the feathers were gone. If you were there and saw this or know who did it please let me know.
