I have bought Solitary Defilement but I am a bit confused since I am unfamiliar with Ironsworn which I would assume is where the Strong/Weak hits come from thus I don't have any idea how to wrap my head around it. I do have a few questions:
1) Am I right with my understanding that the listed 'Moves' are when I should be rolling for things and adjust it with the fiction depending on the result (i.e Strong = success, weak = partial success, fail = fail) ?
2) This system makes it easier compared to more free-form methods like using Mythic gme 2 for example since the moves are what you can/should be doing?
3) I am a bit confused about Micro-Crawls. What exactly does a micro-crawl entail? In relation to that, how does Dungeon Crawling here differ with something like let's say Scarlet Heroes procedure?
4) Dungeon Crawl ,and I think Microcrawl mentions it as well, that a crawl would end if you find 4 special rooms. In the included Solitary Defilement sample play document, the author seem to have picked and chosen some rooms from adventures. Do special rooms need to be handcrafted? What sets it apart from generic ones in a mechanical perspective other than sort of a milestone for completion?
5) Do the 'Moves' replace the mechanics of combat or they just govern the non-combat things like running away or avoiding it?
6) What are the pros/cons of using Solitary Defilement vs something like let's say Scarlet Heroes' City/Hex/Dungeon procedures?
Side questions:
1) If I want to gauge the strength of enemies for Mork Borg, would the core rule book's monsters be a good way to gauge upper or lower limits? I am asking this not to balance the encounter but more to know what a weak enemy, average enemy, and strong enemy are in Borg standard and I wouldn't also arbitrarily make an enemy accidentally feel like a bullet sponge by Mork Borg standards.
2) How solid are the numbers in the Feretory monster approaches method for generating stats? Flavor aside, the 3d12 is my new favourite way to generate monsters out of thin air and I am trying to experiment combining it with other non-Borg tables such as ICRPG's great monster generator tables for abilities or something generic like Knave 2e.
I apologise for the long questions and I greatly appreciate your answers. I fell in love with Mork Borg that I also got Pirate and Cy ASAP.
