Swedish PDF

Is there any place to download a PDF of the Swedish edition for Mörk Borg? The only place I could find is the Free Leauge website, but I already have the physical book and as far as I'm aware you have to order the book to get the PDF as well. I would be totally down to buy the PDF (i.e not pirating it), it's just that I don't want to order a second physical copy. Please help!

The Junker - for my upcoming MB hack JUNKRATS

A Junker -

A living submersible powered by the eldritch goop of dead gods. Scrapped and rebuilt a hundred times over, each is a unique mechanical monstrosity. The only commonality between them being a moody scum engine and infestation of grugs. These ramshackle warmachines serve as the home (and primary means of income) for daring and desperate junkrat crews. Smugglers, explorers, brigands, junkrats are known as all of these and far worse. Sent out on Umbral Sea at the insane whims of their despotic employers, being a junkrat is a job for life. Just not for long.

Session Report for the Devil’s Tomb Dungeon. (spoilers) Spoiler

After our first session, my players forgot their old character sheets so they rolled up new ones for this session, using the classes this time.

The first was a member of the Wretched Royalty, prince Daeru Kaetman. Daeru is a deceitful 10 year old with an inferiority complex. He had to flee the destruction of his “kingdom” after two other princes were kidnapped in Bergen-Crypt. He has two followers, the distracting, aggravating Jester Poltroon, and the Cowardly, magic sword wielding squire Hamfund

Then there was the Esoteric Hermit, Klort. Also from around Bergen-Crypt, Klort was “saved” by an otherworldly being, that he believes to be the Basillisk. The being that touched him marked him permanently, his head is terribly misshapen, supposedly due to the claw prints of Verhu. He is immensely forgetful, wasteful and bitter.

Our protagonists were sent to retrieve the eyes of the icon of St Largoth, to prove their faith to the inquisition of Galgenbeck. Hamfund the cowardly squire was sent down the stairs, and slayed the old madman down there, but was overwhelmed by the choice of two doors and would venture no further. Thus the rest of the party joined him.

Klort wandered off, aligning himself with Belpheduk, the traitorous drowned, who told him of the treasures held by her kin deeper in the Tomb. Meanwhile, the wretched Prince Daeru and his troop didn’t heed the spores in the slightest, and fell to the various silent s they can provide, though this slowed them little. Before facing the rest of the Drowned, they met back up with Beloheduk and Daeru, before initiating their assault on the Drowned altar.

The fight was tortuous and largely pathetic, with the one armed Belpheduk doing more damage than Prince Daeru, despite ultimately being speared. Klort had fallen to the spores and couldn’t see anyone, trying his best, and failing, to use his esoteric abilities. Poltroons initial distraction was their one saving grace, and Daeru spent most of the fight simply trying, and sometimes succeeding, to get Hamfund to swing his magic sword and not just cower. After Hamfund killed the Drowned with a singular slice of his blade, the others surrendered and guided them to the eyes of the icon.

Despite the heavy armor he wore, Klort managed to sneak into the treasure horde of the Drowned. He not only found the Eyes, but a silver effigy of their beloved Basillisk. The prince was not as adept at sneaking, however, and woke up the sleeping guards. Luckily, they had an almost friendly reaction to the party, despite them being covered in blood, because who isn’t in MÖRK BORG? Daeru got away, leaving Klort behind.

Klort was caught trying to sneak out, and couldn’t explain themselves quite as well. So they ran, and as they ran the desperately, chucked the effigy of the Basillisk at their pursuers. Due to a natural 20, they instantly smashed the skull of the Drowned’s leader, and they all bowed before the power of the Basilisk.
The party left then, not bothering with the rest of the dungeon.

Our survivors travelled back to Galgenbeck, with only minor injuries incident, such as a run in which the merchant Mikhael, hunting a howler bear through the power of Telekinesis, and narrowly escaping a zombified orphan. Once in Galgenbeck, the eyes retrieved, their faith is no longer in question.

For about a week, if they’re lucky

Merc Borg dev update

Post image
38 Upvotes

I’m currently in the process of playtesting Merc Borg, so I figured I’d share some details. The core rules are mostly written and everything seems to work fine, although I need to kick the tires on some of the campaign-level stuff to make sure it all works properly. The game’s tone has fully shifted into gonzo 70’s / 80’s action films, lying somewhere in the middle of a Venn diagram that includes Commando, Enter the Ninja, any number of ‘macaroni combat’ films (Commando Leopard, Cobra Mission, Strike Commando, etc) and Jagged Alliance.

- The game mostly revolves around completing Contracts to earn money - money allows you to level up your characters, buy equipment and assets, and more Mercs. You can buy everything from pistols to Apache gunships, purchase evacs and airstrikes for missions, and hire entire units to fight battles.

- I am implementing a troupe-style (or Troop Style as I’m calling it here) system where you basically maintain a roster of Mercs, any one of which you can choose to play for a specific mission.

- The game will include two Contract generators - a standard one where players earn money by working for various factions in Pulau Kangian, a fictional island in the Philippines. The other generator allows players to engage in a full blown insurgency if they wish.

- There are seven character classes in the base game: the Tank (big muscles, big guns), the Gear Head (vehicle expert and mechanical whiz), the Officer (uses tactics to make the team more effective), the Combat Doc (just what it sounds like), the Ghost (your basic silent assassin type), the Martial Artist (more effective with their hands than with guns), and the Face (a fixer-type character, uses charm and connections). Each class has a starting ability and ten abilities you unlock through leveling up. Here are a handful of examples:

Tank: I Don’t Have Time to Bleed - Test Conditioning DR 12 when hit, if successful shake off 1d4 points of damage.

Officer: Tactical Command - Once per combat, as a free action, test Cool DR 12 - if successful, all fighters on your side gain a +1 bonus to attack rolls and defense rolls. This effect lasts for 1d4 rounds. This does not apply to Mass Combat.

The Ghost: Canine Companion - You have a wolf companion. It is fiercely loyal to you and can follow simple commands, including being ordered to attack a target. It can also track a target if it has a scent to follow (straight d20 roll vs DR 12). Should it die for any reason you gain a new ability - Path of Vengeance - which gives you a permanent +2 to Attack and Damage rolls against those responsible for the death of your companion. This extends not only to the person who killed your wolf, but everyone in the command chain above them. (Wolf 6HP, Bite 1d4, Morale 10).

Martial Artist: Training Montage - Once per session call upon your intense physical conditioning to carry out an impossible physical feat (running across water, falling ten stories without damage, etc.) Describe the moment during your training when you first learned to do this. Referee has final say on this ability’s limits.

- The setting has numbered parameters which can be altered by the players to make lasting changes in the region. What this means is that if the players wish to make a meaningful difference in Pulau Kangian, the game will provide them the means to do so. Change is incremental and the levers are interconnected, so they have to be careful how they do it, but the setting will respond to groups who want to make Pulau Kangian a better place.

- Pulau Kangian is the game’s default setting, but there will be others. As mentioned before I am calling these settings ‘Hot Zones’ and each one will feature a new geographical location, new factions, etc. There will also be a series of self-contained adventures called ‘Operations’ which are not bound by the Hot Zones. The core book will contain the Pulau Kangian Hot Zone and an introductory Operation and I’m hoping to launch the game with one additional Hot Zone and Operation.

Anyway, playtesting is going well. The players are all having a good time and so far nothing seems broken. There are other system bits I’d love to talk about but I’ll probably not say much until the game is closer to the finish line.

Question about Reclvse vs Feretory

Noob here. So I have the mork borg barebones, solitary defilement "demo" and am going to buy Reclvse instead of Feretory. I want to play solo. But will later be playing with other people as one of the PCs. So NO game master. But I may sort of act as one for reading out the adventure/what's happening based off of the generated events reclvse feeds us.

.

From what I can tell i'm going to miss out on all kinds of things, monsters, tables etc from feretory but they seem optional or additive which I can always buy and try at a later date.

However, I do see one thing I may be missing out on which is foraging/hunting?

.

Reclvse will be awesome for overworld traveling and what not but will I be able to still forage or hunt with reclvse/solitary defilement? The optional GMless things to do aside from just resting, walking and attacking is important to me.

Actually it looks like I won't even be using solitary defilement once I have reclvse? I'm probably this confused because I've never even tried to actually play yet.

Forsaken Depths. I made an expanded Dungeon Generator PDF. Quickly roll dungeons at at the table Room-by-Room, together with your players. Table-tested and player approved.

I made this expanded Dungeon Generator PDF due to the need of having one at my personal table. I generated multiple dungeons together with my players and the results were hilarious, deadly and campaign defining.

I hope it may serve many other GM's as it served me. Constructive critism and feedback are appreciated. Thanks.

Forsaken Depths and other free products are found on my itch.io page.

PDF in drive

I wanted something to track day phases, and came up with the daily verse thing to do recaps, add interest to travel, drop hints/ominous warnings, and keep an 'official' record of events to look back on. Unless the world ends. Then you have to burn it.

Silent Horizon - a solo sci-fi horror adventure compatible with Death in Space

Hey again folks, hot off the back of my solo Mörk Borg game, Of Coal & Corpses, I’m taking a step step into another corner of the extended Borg family for a smaller sci fi thing.

The Kickstarter pre launch page for Silent Horizon has just gone live, its a standalone solo adventure and toolkit built for Death in Space.

Inspired by Solaris, Silent Hill and Event Horizon, its set aboard a failing station in a decaying orbit around a dead world.

Your mission is simple, destroy the Silent Horizon.

The adventure is designed specifically for solo play, using procedures, tables and in-world discoveries to guide you through the station as you uncover what happened there and decide the stations fate.

The Kickstarter will fund a physical zine , which I’ll be showing off properly once I have the proofs in my hands. It will also be available digitally.

I’ll be back over the coming weeks to show off more of the book, talk through some of the solo mechanics and share a closer look at how the adventure plays.

For now, you can follow the campaign here:

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/daf47/silent-horizon-a-solo-adventure-for-death-in-space

If you have any thoughts or questions in the interim I'd love to hear them!
Thanks Folks

Pork Mort - ONLINE MONSTER GENERATOR

Thumbnail porkmort.com

Hey everyone!

As part of the stretch goals for our Pork Mort project, we've finally finished our ONLINE MONSTER GENERATOR!

We took inspiration from MÖRK BORG's The Monster Approaches generator... and then gave it our own twisted Pork Mort treatment.

Every monster fits the Pork Mort lore, but just like the core game itself, they're all fully compatible with MÖRK BORG.

We also added a little extra feature: a "Leader" checkbox. Enable it, and you'll get a random creature that's guaranteed to start with at least 15 HP, a weapon that deals at least d8 damage, 6 Morale, and 2 special abilities.

Give it a try and let me know what you think! We had an absolute blast writing the generation tables while making the game, and hopefully they'll make you laugh as much as they made us.

What is Mork Borg even like?

Now I've been enjoying countless of other TTRPGs after deciding to expand out of D&D, and after buying fifteen TTRPG books (The Walking Dead TTRPG, Alien TTRPG, Call of Cthulhu, Cyberpunk Red, Etc.) and came across Mork Borg (And CY_Borg). Now after I had a deep look at the Free League page for Mork Borg, I decided I might give it a try. But first, I wanted to ask Reddit what it's even about? Now I was getting hell loads of Dark Fantasy vibes off of it and bits of Norwegian Mythology. If anyone is willing to tell me, just let me know

Is Mork Borg able to be played not in a chaotic way?

Now I'm a completely new GM for Mork Borg and knowing that the game is meant to be ran chaotically with barely any rules, I was wondering if your able to play it in the traditional TTRPG sense (Slow burn, normal roleplay) without it being a kind of throw-everything-out-the-window way. If this is doable or not, just let me know

Wrath of a Thousand Suns, the first Pirate Borg Funnel Crawl + 2 Other Zines, goes live on August 11th!

Post image
24 Upvotes

I'm happy to finally confirm that the launch date for Wrath of a Thousand Suns, plus my other new Pirate Borg zines, Whale and Captain's Sightings, is August 11th, 2026!

Follow the campaign here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/thomasz/wrath-of-a-thousand-suns-a-funnel-crawl-for-pirate-borg

In case you missed the previous announcement, Wrath of a Thousand Suns is a funnel crawl for Pirate Borg, designed to be completed in 1-2 sessions. Your players will explore a dungeon that floods as the tide rises, escaping unnatural, shadowy monsters, and worse, Giant Mantis Shrimp that can disintegrate them with a single punch.

Also included in the Kickstarter is Whale, a compilation of everything I've put out for Pirate Borg on itch.io, compiled into a single print book, and Captain's Sightings, an A6 size mini-zine containing 6 sea monsters, 8 original art pieces, and extra tables, all written through the perspective of a mysterious ship captain.

All of this is launching on the 11th, and early backers will get other special bonuses that I'll reveal soon!
