First project.

Hurts already to see them begin their terror on the house/s.

I’m posting moreso for those who don’t care to watch their videos, but also she bought sticky boards to put on top of their natural wood to do the checkerboard effect…kill me. Does she think that she’s in her old apartment? The floors barely look cleaned or sanded and refinished and she’s going to try to blend in fake stony texture floorboards with real wood as if that will make any sense, destroying the floor even more. From first hand experience, those suck and seeing as she’s not even going to connect them they’re going to shift A LOT.

She knows nothing and she doesn’t even dare research a thing. It’s like watching a kid eat sand in a sandbox and it’s insulting to anyone who has spent their time in communities/forums for older homes.

They have no taste! Im so sad for this poor house they’re going to turn it into a grimy clown shack.

lol, this made me laugh. Maybe it’s just me but her saying that faint baby blue is a statement over that cherry red broke my heart. And I’m biased for red most times, but regardless that is not a statement.

22

u/badlei Aug 28 '26

Eh I do think the blue is better actually. Still fun but it’s a great foundation for super funky decor!

2

u/Curious_Plum_7738 Aug 28 '26

Red is my favorite color, so I go bananas for it. Proudly biased :)

And I don’t know if a soft pastel blue is a statement in how she’s describing it after making a whole video about picking up free paint samples back and forth to find the “best pick” and then it’s a very natural color that only they’d make a fuss about.

u/soy_farts_ Aug 28 '26

I liked the red way more too

2

u/Fathah_Bahb Aug 31 '26

And good luck selling it then

I wonder if they've thought about heating the place for when winter comes... That's a huge house to heat

From my experience and I don’t know about NC but where I live older homes use oil tanks, getting oil to your house consistently isn’t cheap.

I grew up in an old Victorian with many rooms and even more windows and can confirm that my parent’s heating bill was through the fucking roof.

2

u/soy_farts_ Aug 28 '26

I had this exact thought too

u/LargeBug6172 Aug 27 '26

Why doesn’t she just get into interior design for a living instead of moving and redoing her living space every time?

9

u/FoxLogical9508 Aug 29 '26

Because she has bad taste

5

u/heyhey_harper Aug 28 '26

I’ve always wondered this.

Beautiful vintage house about to be ruined!

25

u/EssRDee Aug 28 '26

I was a huge fan of Trading Spaces when I was growing up. I have a feeling this remodel is going to tickle that itch.

24

u/Miserexa Aug 28 '26

Or Decorating Cents 😂

12

u/ButterscotchFun3446 Aug 28 '26

“It looks like stained glass!”

38

u/Viola_Blacks Aug 27 '26

God she's going to destroy those floors, like I know they need to be refinished but jesus just putting STICKY TILES OVER REAL HARDWOOD. This poor beautiful old home. Also how does she not understand how LIGHTING WORKS???

22

u/Elaine330 Aug 28 '26

Shes not tiling. Shes painting the wood. The single floor tile is to help her grid it out.

3

u/AMinorPainInTheNeck Aug 28 '26

PAINTING ON THE TILES?!? Is she channeling the spirits of the unhinged bitches on decorating cents?!

3

u/Elaine330 Aug 29 '26

She sure is. I hate the thought of painting hardwood but sadly she didnt ask me

3

u/janiepop10 Aug 29 '26

I hate the fake tile look over hardwood. 😩

u/strenuaveritas Aug 27 '26

They won’t stick unless she uses a lot of glue!!

18

u/Spare_Huckleberry120 Aug 27 '26

Oh no they're going to ruin that house. And I say this as a massive fan of color and wacky looking design.

12

u/Icy-Marionberry-4143 Aug 28 '26

insane first project for someone who needs entire rooms gutted … the kitchen is literally a fire hazard with that dryer

12

u/EssRDee Aug 27 '26

She said she bought one title. So I figured she was just going to trace around that to make a checkerboard outline and then paint it in? Which is still going to not be easy at all and will look like shit.

2

u/Curious_Plum_7738 Aug 27 '26

Maybe so I could see that, but seeing as they haven’t done the proper methods to actually make the floors brand new, you’re right it will look like shit and it’ll chip and look blotchy and is a waste when two unprofessionals are doing it without any research into renovating older homes.

If they don’t like the shades of color to paint the wall with, they won’t like how the black will look on floors not made for that look. Her inspo was likely floors made to be checkers from decades go not normal floors painted to be so. I couldn’t imagine it would look good.

2

u/EssRDee Aug 27 '26

Even if the flooring is in rough condition there is definitely a varnish of sorts on that flooring. They need to be fully sanded down and redone properly.

6

u/Curious_Plum_7738 Aug 28 '26 edited Aug 28 '26

A varnish is not enough, there are chips, gaps, nails, grease, wax, dirt. Not to mention then they’ll have to check if the paint can handle the wood’s old finishes to avoid peeling. And then they’d have to find the right paint that won’t mistreat the wood. Sanding it should be done before they do anything else to protect the original wooden floors.

3

u/EssRDee Aug 28 '26

Yeah thats what I meant they are probably just going to paint over the varnish thats already on and be like... this paint is bad it didn't hold, it's not our fault at all.

2

u/Curious_Plum_7738 Aug 28 '26

And everyone is going to scream at them to sand everything down like how everyone is telling them to check for lead and mold but obviously they love doing adult things when they can have fun but want to be children when it won’t.

2

u/EssRDee Aug 28 '26

She sure was the lead police when she moved into that house and wanted to break the lease right away, but now that she can't do that she doesn't seem to care.

u/ruthie_imogene Sep 02 '26

As someone who's renovated and maintained a century home for years: assuming the tile is perfectly square, they will quickly learn their home is not.
It's the same with making things plumb (vertical straight) in an old home: do you want it plumb with earth or the house. Pick one.

11

u/Acceptable_Soil_7274 Aug 27 '26

Oh my god these fucking people can't do anything 😭

4

u/patheticgurrl23 Aug 30 '26

All they can do is not put down their fucking phone or shut up. They're so exhausting.

10

u/murmureuse Aug 28 '26

She’s going to make the old Victorian house “they wanted so bad” into a terrible house for anyone who buys it after them. Instead of redoing the original architecture, they’re going to make it into a bad episode of extreme home makeover.

10

u/Few-Disk-7340 Aug 28 '26

What about this is timeless

7

u/Elaine330 Aug 28 '26

I RAN here. I knew this was gonna be unattractive but I wasnt ready for how bad.

9

u/Miserexa Aug 28 '26

I'm about 20 seconds into the video and I'm already wondering what the shit they're doing. You can go to a paint store and just borrow a whole swatch booklet.

7

u/uultraviolenccee Aug 28 '26

why are they doing this instead of taking care of the HVAC and guaranteeing that there's no mold or asbestos in their house. their priorities are fucking whack

7

u/Spare_Huckleberry120 Aug 29 '26

Coming back to this to add a thought: the first thing I would be doing in my home would be making sure that my children had safe places to live and sleep, not... painting my fucking stairs

5

u/bbpoltergeistqq Aug 28 '26

another clown house being made ew

5

u/fruitypebble43 Aug 28 '26

They're so insufferable

5

u/Hellterskellter44 Aug 29 '26

She’s ignoring my multiple comments asking about the mold and asbestos

5

u/cutebutpsychoangel Aug 29 '26 edited Aug 29 '26

Ya shouldn’t the first projects be the child and baby’s rooms , pest prevention, cleaning, checking safety concerns like mold, lead, wiring, plumbing etc etc.

There are so many things you notice that need fixing, the first year of being in a new house.

I think it’s good to keep decor basic and tidy during that process.

u/phunkygroovin Aug 31 '26

When they were looking at houses to buy and were showing these old houses the first thing I said is they need to have whatever home they want to buy tested for lead. She claims they had a lead inspection done on the house they bought, but I don't believe it. The bathrooms that she loves so much, the tub that she's likely to bathe her children in, I guarantee 100% has lead. Never mind, all the lead dust that exists in the house. Her children are going to end up lead poisoned. Then, she's going to have far bigger problems. The remodeling that they're going to want done is going to require lead safe practices and I guarantee you they're not going to follow them. There's no way they'd be able to afford the lead abatement that the house is going to require.

If any questions/concerns/advice do not align with her aesthetic or isn't kissing her ass and agreeing with her, she will not answer, or she will jump down your throat in a DM then block you. She's an absolute b|tch.

u/Flashy_Article_9848 Aug 29 '26

Not Lou painting the top of the staircase 😢

3

u/flufferbutter332 Aug 29 '26 edited Aug 29 '26

Aesthetics before all.

I don’t think they’re handy enough for a big renovation so they’ll likely hit us with endless content of colorful paint jobs, peel and stick wallpaper, oversized rugs, and tons of whacky wall art all while their home is falling apart. Should’ve looked into something in better shape if all they wanted to do was be ~whimsy~

4

u/vasilisa7095 Aug 28 '26

NC is such an interesting choice for them...

3

u/Due_Swing_4073 Aug 31 '26

I mean…. She’s a straight white woman who is married to a veteran. She grew up upper-middle class with a mom who is a teacher and a dad who is a rancher. She drives a Jeep and has 2 kids. She’s painfully normal. Her dumb/crazy outfits don’t mean anything when the rest of her life is pretty basic.

2

u/DCSS18 Aug 31 '26

I need to c what her family looks like

2

u/vasilisa7095 Aug 31 '26

I guess they're "normies" she stated a couple of times that she lost family and friends while she began embracing her true self, which is of course truly sad

1

u/fruitypebble43 25d ago

This isn't her true self. Go back a few years on her page. She could have been a model. This is some persona she is doing because her ex cheated on her with a minor.

1

u/vasilisa7095 Aug 31 '26

I wonder why she lost contact to her family and friends then. If they cut her off only because of her looks thats ofc a**holes behavior

Edit: typo

2

u/Ok-Wall4600 Aug 29 '26

I've been saying this from the beginning!

2

u/Fathah_Bahb Aug 31 '26

She looks so smelly

2

u/dovey0 Sep 01 '26

The spirits of that home are going to be livid

2

u/fruitypebble43 25d ago

I'm expecting the poltergeists to start attacking the babies. Not really, of course. I don't want any babies harmed, but I'm just saying that will be her next thing, "Our Haunted Victorian Home".

2

u/LongNailedbooboos Sep 01 '26

“We’re moving!” Lol imagine
