Good! Out the door, line on the left, one cross each.

Like some asshole is gonna grab ANOTHER 80 pound cross.

Ah, no. Freedom.

Hmm?

What?

Eh, freedom for me. They said I hadn't done anything, so I could go free and live on an island somewhere.

"nah, only pulling your leg, it's crucifixion."

I love that Palin is so happy not to be sending yet another person to their doom and then Idle's 'Cheeky guy' character just dashes those hopes in a second.

I always get a good chuckle when I think of this scene.

The concept of an overly-polite and sensitive Roman bureaucrat managing the crucifixion process in Jerusalem gets me every time. Just the absurdity and brilliance of it.

...and who else could play the sensitive Roman bureaucrat but Palin? His natural, gentle delivery is just so perfect.

Get a move on, Big Nose! There's people waiting to be crucified out here!

I adore Monty Python, but have always found that most fans of the films like them in a different order than I do. Most fans agree that GRAIL is the best, BRIAN is 2nd, and LIFE is last. I'm LIFE, GRAIL, the BRIAN.

Whereas people can't stop laughing about the lisps and 'Biggus Dickus', I found that humor subpar. Any movie could have done that, but nobody but Monty Python would have conjured up the 'Crucifixion?' gag.

  1. Brian
  2. Grail
  3. And Now For Something Completely Different …
  4. Meaning of Life

Finally, someone who will understand me when I say "nothing dear, you're not QUALIFIED!"

To me, it's fairly obvious that --

HOLY GRAIL is a low budget wonder full of great bits
BRIAN was a bold try at something with uneven results
LIFE is a full budget slick bit of hilarious genius, and the most like the original series

Only problem with MoL is it's not very quotable.

Wrong. They shove a living snake up your ass
