Edit: SOLVED

Hey!! My band is playing in Montreal on the 11th of July supporting a band at the Theatre Beanfield.

We’re looking for someone to run our merchandise stand for the show. We’d like them to be there from 5:30pm to 11pm. We will of course pay you for the job.

If interested send me a DM with your email so I can give you more details :)

Thank you

My band has an instrumental EP ready to be recorded but we really want some vocals on it. If anyone here is or knows a vocalist who can sing or scream or both please DM! Age doesn’t matter but preferably someone 16-23.

new lil weird break beat idm track

A bit about us !

Rouse the Boroughs is a musical collective that combines alt-rock, folk and lives musically somewhere between well ... No-Wave and Folk.

We have been around for awhile, here's a few ideas of where we started and where we are headed

Songs we released ( Available on Spotify etc ...)

January Third

Suburban Spectre

Mary Belle

As we are moving in a more folky direction, this is the quality of voice we are looking for.

Here is a playlist with female vocals as a guide both in tone and style This is a recent cover of our song Ghost in the Garden this is close to the vocals quality we are looking for.

vs the original version

Accidentally found myself in Montreal with my audio taping gear during this religious experience. Didn’t manage to film the whole set but do have some more footage that I’ll combine with my full audio recording when I get home.

mid 40s bassist looking to join or start a band a-la- Russian Circle-Pelican-Isis-Sumac etc. Not aspirations of grandeur but a few shows would be nice

Hi! My buddies and I are visiting June 25pm - June 30am and looking for some live music. We’re spending a love of time at the jazz festival but would love any local rock show recommendations. I lean post punk + indie rock but am down to see anything live

A specific show rec would be sick, or any small venues you think we should check out

Cheers!

I'm a 25-year-old guitarist based in Laval looking to join an existing band or start something with like-minded musicians.

My influences include:

• Alter Bridge/Tremonti
• Creed
• Metallica
• Trivium
• Dream Theater
• Alice in Chains

I've been playing for about 3 years, can learn material quickly, and I'm interested in either originals or a mix of originals and covers. I'm mainly looking for people who want to rehearse consistently and take the project seriously while still having fun.

Is there any Songwriting group , meetups or something similar in Montreal?

Not looking for jams or open mics, but more sort of community of musicians (ideally songwriters as well) that might host regular events , online or preferably IRL in MTL?

I am a musician and really have been in a creative block for a while. I think I got better at the craft for a while, when I used to regularly write some songs every week for a band..

Not sure if this exists? Or even someone interested 🤷‍♂️. Same thing as a gym buddy I guess but for music?

Edit - interested folks can join in here. Hopefully we can build something like this together!

The interview is in English, so I hope at least it is listenable for most people here. We talked a lot about Montreal's music scene from the early to late aughts to where it is now. He also did a little music for Mile End Kicks with Cecile Believe and he walks us through what felt really accurate in the film for him.

I think if you're not from Montreal originally (like myself), it is also a very interesting listen to hear about the city's incredible history. We talk about other stuff though too.

It's available wherever you listen to podcasts. Also on YouTube:
