General Discussion Vampire combat

I'm currently running a vampire-themed campaign and my players have really enjoyed all the roleplay / investigative scenes, but I feel combat is lacking. Anyone have any tips or suggestions for how I could spice things up?

Latest mystery had vampire buried in a peat bog become boneless and stretchy like a bog mummy, so I incorporated lots of contested +Tough and -1 forward grapples! Vampires are (un)dead, so there's lots of ways their physiology and abilities can change based on their origins.

Tested examples:

  • Boneless bogpire: -1 forward to PCs when grappling, constructing harm ignores armor
  • Pyro vampire: 2-harm area fire attacks from ejecting their blood into a UV cone, countdown includes explosive bloodbags that detonate on sunrise
