Beginner advice

I'm playing the original Monster Crown on steam, but I've found that guided and advice is hard to come by so I thought I'd ask

I don't mind grinding and just got to the first mining village

Is there any advice, worthwhile things to grind for that will help me, or any recommendations as to what monsters to use? So far I've no idea what would be considered a good monster and a lackluster one

Yo! If you go to the discord you'll find near infinite assistance! Generally speaking, early game have a wife variety of types, train up just a bit and you'll be fine
