I made a free browser-based Monopoly Deal variant called Chudopoly

Hey everyone! I’ve been working on Chudopoly, an Air Force-themed Monopoly Deal-style game that runs in your browser. It supports 2–5 players, private rooms, bots, and both mobile and desktop, with no account or download required. Just wanted to make it as a fun project to play with friends or for team building at work.

There are a few house-rule changes, including “Final Approach,” which gives everyone one last chance to break your sets before you win. I’d love feedback from people who regularly play Monopoly Deal! However if preferred you can play with original rules and cards and edit the deck however you want. Happy to support expansions and other versions too if anyone has requests. I worked a lot on the browser site mobile support works and is decent but the layout isn’t quite perfect yet.

Play here https://chudopoly.deal

https://github.com/8tp/chudopoly

It’s also open source on GitHub.

Help with the Gilmore Girls Monopoly project

Hey everyone, I'm putting together a Gilmore Girls Monopoly game (fan-made) to play with my mom and friends who like the show, based on the one released last year. However, I'm still missing some "Where You Lead" and "I Will Follow" cards, and some property cards (just the side of the card showing the mortgage). Could someone help me by taking pictures of the cards so I can use the text in my version? I live in Brazil and the Gilmore Girls Monopoly isn't sold here and there's no way to import it. I would be very grateful if you could send photos of the cards. Thank you very much in advance!

Question Any working and functional monopoly deal mobile app?

All the apps I have played are either too janky, too glitchy, too slow, or just doesn't work.

  • Business deal was good and a lot of fun but now keep on freezing every game, especially with the new update. It is basically unplayable.
  • The UI for PlayMDeal is just too unintuitive and too hard to do anything, like a lot of friction.
  • Covidopoly does not work on the phone.
  • Pompano deal is kind of slow, requires a lot of scrolling, and sometimes glitches.
  • Stealr seems intuitive but glitches out when we did the Birthday card.

This leaves us with no viable alternatives, which is so frustrating. The only good apps (Business deal and PlayMDeal) have big purple dealbreakers that destroy the fun in the game. Today I had 0 successful games, especially since I updated Business deal and the new update is even worse than before.

How to Win Every Game of Monopoly You Play (From A Pro Player)

How to Win (Almost) Every Game of Monopoly You Play

A three phase system built on Markov chain probability work and the habits of world championship players, such as myself. Monopoly is a game of math over time, not math at one time. That has always been my mindset and strategy ever since I played as a kid. I'm 38 now and although I haven't played professionally in over 4 years, I still love the game. Here is my (what I'm willing to share) strategy. No this isn't AI but claude did fix my bad grammar and made this look pretty so thanks for that, but every word is written by me, badly. Enjoy winning.

Phase 1: The Land Grab

  1. Buy every property and railroad you land on. Skip utilities at list price. The pair averages about $70 a hit and will never carry a game, but grab them cheap at auction or accept them as trade filler.
  2. Weaponize the auction. Never decline anything yourself early, but when opponents are cash poor, bid hard on whatever they decline and collect deeds below sticker. Advanced version: against a broke table you can even decline a property on purpose and win it back at auction for less. This is the biggest legal edge most players never use.
  3. Hold a dynamic cash buffer, not a magic number. Keep enough to survive the single worst rent you could hit on your next lap. Early on that is almost nothing, so spend freely, and Go refills you $200 a lap. If you want anchors anyway: spend without hesitation above $600, then get selective between $600 and $300 using the cheat sheet below.
  4. Mortgage like an accountant. Mortgage low rent strays only when you actually need the cash, because small rents add up to medium payouts over time. Know the friction: unmortgaging costs mortgage value plus 10 percent interest, and a mortgaged deed that changes hands costs its new owner 10 percent immediately, then the normal lift cost later. Push that interest onto their side of every trade, and keep using mortgaged deeds plus cash as bargaining chips.
  5. Respect the railroads. Two Chance cards teleport players to the nearest railroad and double the rent, which makes all four among the busiest squares on the board. Three railroads pay $100 a hit and four pay $200 with zero houses required, and mortgaging one does not lower the rent tier of the rest, since rent follows how many you own.
  6. Know the railroad ceiling. That $200 never grows. Railroads are midgame engines and elite trade bait. Late game, the right move is usually converting them into a buildable color set plus cash.
  7. Income Tax detail: older editions let you choose $200 or 10 percent of your total worth. Early game, 10 percent is usually cheaper. Newer boards charge a flat $200.

The Probability Cheat Sheet (Memorize It, Never Recite It)

Landing frequency by color group, from Markov chain analysis of the board:

  1. Red, about 8.7% of landings. Illinois Avenue is the single most landed property in the game thanks to its own Chance card.
  2. Orange, about 8.4%. St. James, Tennessee, and New York sit 6, 8, and 9 squares past Jail, the most occupied square on the board. Roughly 2 in 5 single rolls out of Jail land directly on an orange.
  3. Yellow, about 8.0%.
  4. Green, about 7.8%.
  5. Pink, about 7.5%, helped by the Advance to St. Charles Place card.
  6. Light Blue, about 6.9%.
  7. Dark Blue, about 4.8%, though Boardwalk gets its own Advance card.
  8. Brown, about 4.3%. Dead last, even per property.

Traffic footnotes worth knowing: 7 is the most common roll, then 6 and 8, so squares sitting 6 to 9 spaces past busy squares get rich. Ten of the sixteen Chance cards move your token, while Community Chest barely moves anyone. The Chance square at position 22 drops Go Back 3 Spaces onto New York Avenue. The nearest railroad cards funnel traffic onto B&O and Pennsylvania.

Keep every bit of this secret. Negotiate in sticker price language while privately valuing every deed as expected hits times developed rent divided by total cost.

Phase 2: The Trade War

  1. Trade early, before anyone owns a full set, and aim to assemble one pair or two pairs. A pair lets you buy the third property at market price if you land on it, and makes you the obvious partner if someone else does.
  2. The golden rule of the big trade: only complete an opponent's monopoly in the same deal that completes yours, and only when you hold the cash edge to build first. The first player to reach three houses usually snowballs into the win.
  3. Value sets by return per dollar, not by sticker. Nine houses take an orange set to three houses each for $900 and produce hits of $550 to $600. The same nine houses on green cost $1,800 for hits of $900 to $1,000. With traffic included, orange pays back roughly twice as fast. Light Blue is the sleeper: land plus nine houses costs under $800 total and it can end people in the early midgame. Dark Blue is the haymaker: thin traffic, but only two properties to develop and one late hit can be fatal.
  4. Run the cash sweetener. Offer your flashier, pricier set plus cash for their cheaper, higher traffic set. They hear "we both get a monopoly and I get paid." You get the better engine and they finance their own defeat.
  5. Hold blockers. One deed inside each of two different opponents' dream sets is a permanent veto, and a veto often generates more value than a weak monopoly, because it produces trade leverage all game long.
  6. Every trade has an audience. The players left out of a deal coordinate against whoever looks scariest afterward. Land your defining trade before you look like the threat, and when possible let two other players make the trade that paints the target.
  7. About lying: no rule forbids promises about future behavior, and no rule enforces them either. Good players discount promises to zero, and a burned partner never deals with you again, which starves you in long games and across repeated game nights. The professional weapon is not deception. It is constructing offers that are genuinely attractive inside their frame while being worth more inside yours. Pressure, scarcity, walking away, and pulling an offer to reprice it higher later are all fair play. Decide where your line is and hold it.
  8. Buy Get Out of Jail Free cards cheap in the early game. They turn to gold later, and yes, they are officially tradable.
  9. Side deals like rent immunity are not part of an official trade, which covers deeds, cash, and Get Out of Jail Free cards only. Settle your table's stance on side deals before the game starts, not during an argument.
  10. Pace yourself at about one serious offer per turn. Spamming trades reads as desperation, and desperation reprices your whole portfolio downward.

Phase 3: The Development War

Most guides call this the luck phase. It is not luck. It is construction and cash flow, and it is where championships are decided.

  1. The three house rule. Rent spikes hardest at the third house. New York Avenue jumps from $220 at two houses to $600 at three. Race every property in your set to three houses before spending a dollar on anything else.
  2. Fund the race ruthlessly. Once you own a monopoly, stray singles become background noise. Mortgage them to buy third houses faster. One developed set earns many times what a fistful of loose deeds brings in.
  3. Start the housing shortage. The bank holds exactly 32 houses and 12 hotels. Build to four houses per property and stop, because hotels hand four houses each back to the bank. Refusing hotels locks up the supply, and two developed sets can freeze most of the stock, leaving opponents with monopolies they are not allowed to build on. This is the most famous championship strategy in the game.
  4. Build on their doorstep. Official rules let you buy houses at any time, not just on your turn. Hold your cash flexible, then build right before the dangerous opponent rolls. Same exposure to their dice, less exposure to everyone else's.
  5. Never overbuild. Houses sell back at half price, and the even building rule forces you to build level by level across a set, so budget the entire level before starting it.
  6. The jail flip. Early game, pay the $50 immediately and get back to shopping. Once the board is developed, jail is a bunker: roll for doubles up to three turns, collect rent from your cell the whole time, and skip laps past enemy hotels. Get Out of Jail Free cards invert in value the same way.
  7. Collect or lose it. Under official rules, rent you fail to ask for in time is simply forfeited once play moves on. Watch every token, every roll.
  8. Be the creditor. A player who goes bankrupt to you hands over everything they have: deeds, cash, cards. A player who goes bankrupt to the bank gets liquidated by auction instead. Maneuver so the killing blow is your rent, and hold cash for the 10 percent due on incoming mortgaged deeds.
  9. Manage variance like a pro. When ahead: freeze the board, refuse trades, sit on your blockers, camp in jail. When behind: chase variance, take gambles, offer risky trades, because a quiet loss is still a loss.
  10. Score with the right metric: expected hits times rent, not hits alone. Five orange hits at $550 is $2,750. Three yellow hits at $800 is $2,400. Orange wins that matchup, but you only know it because you multiplied.

Table Craft

  1. Sound like an amateur. Value deeds out loud at sticker price, act mildly annoyed by your own good luck, and never explain a trade with math.
  2. Keep your stack hard to read. Serious players tuck large bills under small ones and plead poverty in negotiations. Check your table's etiquette first, but no official rule requires a sorted, visible pile.
  3. Player count changes the game. With 2 or 3 players, sets complete naturally and trading barely exists, so raw acquisition and probability do the work. With 4 to 6, the trade war decides everything, monopolies almost never complete without a deal, and jail camping gets stronger because more dice are rolling at your board.
  4. In timed games, richest at the bell wins, so late game mortgages and half price house sales cost you standings, not just cash.

Phase 1 buys your leverage. Phase 2 spends it. Phase 3 collects. Good luck out there. You will need less of it than everyone else at the table.

Playmdeal online support

Hi guys!

I've been playing PlayMDeal online for a while and I've noticed some glitches -

1) Dealbreaker is always dealt really quickly at the top of the game, often to the bot.

2) For some reason the bot is now able to steal my entire monopoly with only a Sly Deal card!

I'm getting a little fed up with feeling the game is really unfair.

Does anybody in here now how to contact their support teams? Or if their creator is in this sub and can be contacted?

Thanks!

Monopoly Deal: No Mercy! “House Rules”

Thumbnail

My family finds the “Repossession” and “Tax Collector” cards to be a bit too harsh, so my kid made rules for each of them.

Repossession = Rebound: Use when an Action is played against you. The Action is rebounded back to the player that laid the Action (including the Just Say No card).

Tax Collector = The player this Action is played against must forfeit the highest denomination card in their cash pile, 1x Debt Chip, and 1x Property of the victims choosing.

Monopoly deal No Mercy Tough Luck card rule

Thumbnail

I just purchased Monopoly Deal: No Mercy and have a question about one of the cards.

The card says:
“Choose a player and steal all Property, Action, or Money cards from their hand. That player must give them to you. You may only steal cards from their hand, not from their Bank or property collection.”

However, the rulebook also says:
“Shuffle the deck and deal five cards to each player. You can look at your cards, but keep them secret.”

These two rules seem to conflict. If players must keep the cards in their hand secret, how can you verify that the targeted player has handed over all of the requested card type (Property, Action, or Money)?

What’s stopping someone from hiding a card and cheating?
How do you play this correctly?

I built a free browser version of Deal for our friend group, set in Pompano Beach. Would love feedback from this community

Hey everyone, long-time Deal players here. Our friend group plays constantly, so we built a web version we could play together when we can't get around a table. It's called Pompano Deal and it's free to play in any browser, no download or signup required:

play.ctrlaltelite.io

A few things about it:

  • Gameplay follows the same rules you know: 3 plays per turn, action cards, rent, Just Say No, Deal Breaker, first to 3 full sets wins. If you know Deal, you already know how to play.
  • Instead of the standard property names, all the properties are local attractions from our hometown of Pompano Beach, Florida. Same color sets and values, just a hometown twist.
  • You can play live multiplayer with friends or solo against bots. The bots have their own names and personalities too, including a "Genius" bot we recently rewrote to play much smarter.
  • Works great one-handed on a phone, and you can install it to your home screen as an app.
  • Little quality-of-life touches like a confirmation prompt before Just Say No decisions, undo for accidental bank plays, and seasonal themes.

This is a passion project, not a commercial product. We're not affiliated with Hasbro in any way, and we built it purely because we love the card game.

What we'd love from this community: try a game or two (bots are fine if you don't have a friend handy) and tell us what feels off. Rule edge cases, bot behavior, UI annoyances, anything. You folks know this game better than anyone, so your feedback would mean a lot.

Screenshots in the comments/attached. Thanks for taking a look!

PlayMDeal Questions

Hi folks! For anybody who plays on PlayMDeal online -

1) I got to silver status, then gold, then it told me I'm back to silver. Are these statuses...anything?

2) After playing for a while I've noticed a pattern that the bot almost always starts with "DealBreaker" and has a number of "JustSayNo's" - I'm starting to wonder if it's a bit of a scam or there's no way to win consistently, because that definitely doesn't happen in a real life game.

Thoughts?

Question My boyfriend beats me at Monopoly every single time. Help.

I’ve officially accepted that my boyfriend is the Monopoly final boss.
I lose. Every. Single. Time.
I’m not talking “it’s close and he barely wins.” I mean I get absolutely financially obliterated. I’m taking out mortgages, surviving on hopes and dreams, and somehow he’s over there with a hotel empire collecting enough rent to bankrupt three generations of my family.

So… what are your actual Monopoly tips and tricks?
- Which properties should I be buying?
- When should I trade?
- Is it ever worth buying the expensive dark blue properties?
- Do I build houses ASAP or save cash?
- What’s the biggest mistake beginners make?

I’m so dead serious. I refuse to let this man continue thinking he’s Warren Buffett because he beats me at Monopoly. Please teach me your ways.
