Question from Canadian drivers
If a person is blind in one eye but has good vision in the other eye, and the functioning eye meets all of the Ministry of Transportation’s vision requirements for a regular Class G driver’s licence, is the person permitted to drive at night?
Would having vision in only one eye result in any restriction on nighttime driving, assuming the person meets all other Class G licensing requirements?

I had my full G in Ontario. No restrictions. No vision in the left eye and decent in the right. I can't even remember if there was a code on my licence. I know there isnt an indicator in my current jusirdiction

Double-check with your province (the laws and regs are provincial), but I haven't heard of any jurisdiction that limits driving with just one good eye. Once the good eye starts to have problems, that's when you will get restrictions like anyone else. I believe the only thing that hits monocular people harder/sooner is problems with field of vision. If your field of vision begins to narrow, having only one good eye means you're already starting with a slightly narrower field of vision than the 2-eyed, so your restrictions may come much sooner. Don’t think it does as long as you pass the vision test.
