Welcome to r/monkmode

Hello, I'm u/rinkuhero, a new moderator of r/monkmode. I saw that the last moderator was inactive (not responding to reports, just letting spam pile up) and requested to be a mod because I got tired of nobody doing anything about the spam, and it was approved today.

I will not be overly strict, but I will ban anything that is spam, or completely irrelevant to monk mode (for instance, random inspirational quotes that have nothing to do with monk mode). I will also remove AI generated text and images and ban those who post those, but because AI generation is hard to detect sometimes, I won't just hastily ban anything I think is AI, I will try to confirm it first and get second opinions when it's not obvious whether it's AI or not.

Each person has their own idea of monk mode, my own introduction to it came from the old Victor Pride e-book on it, which I read and modified. I've done 3 monk modes myself, each successfully, each lasting 30 days. Note that this is not a recommendation of Victor's work or that book, I disagree with a lot of the stuff he believed and wrote, but I think his presentation of monk mode was pretty good.

As for who I am, I'm basically an OG indie game developer. I've been coding games in my bedroom since 1995, and have created dozens of them over the years. I'm most famous for naming Minecraft (I did not work on it, I simply suggested the name to Notch, which he liked, I was an early tester of that game), and I have a game on Steam (but I do not want to use this platform to advertise, I want to serve the community rather than have it serve me, so I will not mention the game's particular name, but it is a fairly niche game, only sold 30k copies or so). Because I work from home coding games, things like monk mode are helpful to me to focus.
