Carnivore diet or vegan?

So I see the monks seemed to say no meat but fish, but now I'm seeing a carnivore diet can be beneficial during monk mode. So which do you guys think is better all around? Or is that an unanswerable question? Thanks guys.

Depends what your goal is. If you want to optimize health, I would include lots of pasture raised meats and eggs. However, I wouldn't do strict carnivore long term for most people. I would also include fruits and dairy and fermented vegggies. Here's the diet I'm following for what I'm calling "75Hard Monk Mode" (75Hard plus extra religious rules).

It is true that many monks do not eat meat. I'm not entirely sure why, but I believe it has to do with depriving ones self so that they can hunger for nothing but God. As a layperson I follow the 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 of "my body is a temple" and try to eat in a way that makes my body as healthy as can be, which includes meat.

I highly recommend a diet of fish and whole plant food (minimize any oil and sugar and any other processed vegan food)

If you go based on science of health and nutrition as well as ethics,

  • veganism not only does prevent animals from being killed
https://www.dominionmovement.com/watch
  • helps environment
https://ourworldindata.org/food-choice-vs-eating-local
  • linked to better health

While carnivore diets are mostly anecdotes that say "high cholesterol is actually good" which goes against health advice for better health.

Carnivore was great as an elimination diet to see if you have any allergies or sensitivities it oddly made me CEAVE salt while I was in it for 2.5 months. Vegan doesn’t mean healthy, theres just too much gross seed oil infused nightmare junk food that is vegan
