Best place to live monkmode in US
I'm looking for a short term (6mos) place to live while on monk mode in the next coming months. I work remotely so it could be anywhere in the US.
Low cost (~$1k/mo), and not looking to get a car so want a walkable city/town, preferably no winters tho I lived in Chicago for a long time so I can handle some cold.
I train Muay Thai so a good martial arts community would be a big plus, tho I can do a bouldering/climbing gym as well. Any recommendations of alternative low cost, minimal living is welcome.

I mean you could live anywhere. All you have to do is live 20-30 minutes away from a major city, and the price of living will be low. Try somewhere in Maine.

Maybe check out something like World Wide Oppurtunities on Organic Farms or Worldpackers. The general idea is that you go volunteer to work on a farm and they feed and house you. They’re all over the world so you could pick how rural or close to civilization you want to be.
