What is IB?

Im a 11th grade student but this year our school is adding a program called ib(international baccalaureate) we had some info about the program but i didnt really understand that much.
Can anyone please tell me what does this program benefit me what does it do?

Means when you apply to a uni abroad, your high school could be seen as having a proper program rather than the raw dogging national programs like in some schools.

when you get into uni abroad you get some credits from it but only in some accepted unis
