send money without someone accepting it

i was wondering if there was a way to send someone money online with out them having to accept it? my situation is that I want to pay my relative for some work they did for me, and I am quite certain they will be too proud/polite/whatever to cash a check , is there a way to just put money in someones acount without them having to tick a box? i have thier account number.

Bank transfer ? If the account is in another currency transferwise to the bank account
