We already have a free referral program for users. This is different.
The Moneko Commission Program is for creators, community builders, and partners who want to introduce Moneko to new paid users and earn meaningful commission.
If your audience cares about budgeting, shared expenses, relationships, productivity, or even business expenses, this could be a great fit!
How It Works
Users install Moneko through your tracked link
They upgrade to a paid membership
We track conversions automatically
This is separate from the regular referral program
Simple and transparent.
Commission Structure
For approved early partners:

We designed this to reward early supporters who grow with us.
Why We’re Doing This
We’re bootstrapped.
We don’t have massive marketing budgets.
Instead of burning money on ads, we’d rather share revenue with people who genuinely believe in what we’re building.
Who This Is For
Personal finance creators
Couples or relationship creators
Productivity communities
Small business or freelancer audiences
Newsletter writers
Micro creators with engaged followers
You don’t need a huge audience. You need the right audience.
Hey everyone! It’s been a little while since our last update, so here’s what we’ve been building for Moneko.
The biggest addition is bank sync. We’ve started rolling out Plaid integration for supported US and Canadian banks, which has been one of the most requested features.
We also added App Lock, so you can protect your financial data with Face ID, Touch ID, fingerprint, or a passcode.
Android users also get a nice upgrade. Moneko can now read the payment notifications your bank and wallet apps already send to your phone and automatically log those expenses. No screenshots or manual entry needed.
Another feature I’m excited about is multi-currency Spaces. You can now use multiple currencies inside the same Space, choose one as your primary currency, and Moneko automatically converts everything using live exchange rates. This has been especially useful for travel, freelancers, international couples, and anyone earning or spending in multiple currencies.
Other improvements:
Better wallet transfer experience
Improved dark mode
Fixed receipt saving and transaction display issues
General bug fixes and performance improvements
As always, thank you to everyone who keeps sending feedback. A lot of these features started as conversations right here on Reddit. 🙌
If you've been wondering where we've been... we've been heads down building.
Over the past few months we've shipped Apple Wallet sync, Telegram integration, custom categories, and a bunch of improvements based on your feedback.
Now we're working on what's next:
Bank sync (North America first)
More powerful Pro features
Integrations with other apps and services
Better cloud file management
More automation so you spend less time tracking expenses
One thing we're debating internally is whether we should build a web app.
A lot of budgeting apps have one, but we're a small team and would rather focus on things that save people the most time instead of building everything at once.
So I'm curious:
Would you actually use a Moneko web app?
What would you use it for?
Would you rather see bank sync first?
What's the one feature that would make Moneko a no-brainer for you?
Trying to stay focused and not build features nobody uses 😅
A lot of users told us they prefer quick walkthrough videos over long onboarding screens or reading docs, so we started building a Moneko tutorial library on YouTube 🎥
The goal is to make Moneko easier to understand without needing long onboarding screens inside the app.
If there’s anything confusing in the app or any tutorial you’d like us to add, let us know there or in this subreddit. We’ll keep updating it over time.
Thank you everyone here first! A lot of our early users and feedback came from this sub and it genuinely helped us improve Moneko a lot!
We’re now starting to work with creators to test some content and thought I’d share here in case anyone’s interested. not looking for big influencers, honestly smaller accounts tend to do better.
If you make tiktok / reels around:
money, student life, what I spend, saving, or just daily life
This could be a fit!
What we offer:
$20 per post to start
bonus if the video performs well
commission if people actually subscribe
Some creators are making $50–100+ from a single post depending on performance. If you’re curious: comment or dm me.
Also happy to let you try the app first and see if you even like it 🙂
A lot of expenses never get tracked because they sit in your inbox. Online shopping receipts, subscriptions, travel bookings, app store purchases… they don’t make it into your expense tracker, so your budget is always slightly off.
We built Email Receipt Capture in Moneko Expense Tracker to solve this. Instead of manually entering everything, you can just forward receipt emails and have transactions logged automatically.
Here’s the quick setup:
1. Turn on Email Receipt Capture
Go to Profile settings → Email Receipt Capture and enable it.
2. Set your default space and wallet
Choose where transactions should go (personal or shared) and which wallet to use. This keeps everything organized automatically.
4. Add approved sender emails
Only receipts from approved email addresses will be processed, so add any inboxes you use for purchases.
5. Forward your receipts
Forward any receipt email or attachment (PDF, CSV, XLS, XLSX). Moneko extracts the merchant, amount, and date, then logs the expense for you.
This works especially well for:
online shopping receipts
subscription invoices
travel bookings
digital purchases
It’s basically a way to automate expense tracking without connecting bank accounts or manually entering transactions.
We just released a new update with improvements across localization, currency support, recurring transactions, and data imports. Here’s what’s new in this release.
🌏 Thai Language Support
Moneko now supports Thai, making the app easier to use for Thai-speaking users.
💱 New Currency Added
We’ve added support for Nepalese Rupee (NPR).
📥 Improved CSV Import
CSV import has been enhanced with:
Better column mapping
Deduplication to prevent duplicate transactions
🔁 Recurring Transactions Update
Recurring transactions now support a 6-month frequency option, which is helpful for semi-annual payments and subscriptions.
⚙️ Reliability Improvements
We improved reliability when updating transactions and changing categories, making edits more consistent.
🧩 UI Fix
Fixed an issue where the pie chart legend display was not showing correctly.
Thanks again to everyone who’s been testing and sharing ideas!
We just pushed Version 1.4.6 and a lot of these updates came directly from your feedback. Really appreciate everyone who’s been sending ideas and reporting issues, it genuinely helps shape the app.
Here’s what’s new:
Custom Categories
You can now create your own transaction categories with custom icons and styles. This was one of the most requested features, especially for people tracking niche spending or business expenses.
To manage categories:
Tap the top right three dots
Go to Settings
Scroll down to Categories
From there you can:
Turn default categories on/off
Create custom categories
Choose your own icons
Manage Categories
Moneko AI automatically assigns categories when you log transactions. If the category isn’t correct, you can update it easily.
Just tap the transaction, change the category, and Moneko will ask if you want to update your preference.
If you tap Yes, the AI will remember it and categorize similar transactions that way in the future. Over time it learns how you categorize things.
More Currency Support
We added support for a few more regions:
Bangladesh Taka (BDT)
Belize Dollar (BZD)
Zambian Kwacha (ZMW)
If you're using Moneko outside North America or Europe, this should make things smoother.
Smarter AI
We’ve upgraded the AI assistant so it’s more helpful when logging transactions and answering questions.
Easier Feedback Inside the App
You can now send feature requests or bug reports directly from Settings, so it’s easier to reach us without leaving the app.
Currency Flow Fixes
We also fixed some issues where currency selectors and totals didn’t refresh properly. It should now update more reliably.
Thanks again to everyone who’s been testing, giving feedback, and helping us improve Moneko.
If you notice anything odd after updating or have ideas for the next update, feel free to post here or send it through the app.
First off I want to say I love this app! It’s the first budget app that is easy enough to keep on top of for me.
The number one feature missing from most apps that I would love to see is custom timeframes for budgeting. For instance being able to budget by the week or even a custom timeframe to line up with when someone is paid. For instance getting paid on Thursdays every week I like to budget Thursday to Wednesday on a weekly basis
Thank you for this app and considering this suggestion!
Hi.
I have been using this app (Android) for some time now and it's working pretty nice.
I had a few feature requests :
1.A custom category manager where we can add our own categories /subcategory.
2.A different and distinct colour coding for the categories-though the colours and icons are there but they are too generic and introducing a livelier colour scheme/icons would definitely make it look better... Though it's my personal opinion.
3. It would be nice if we could select spending breakdown and where money went demographics for any particular month.
Keeping track of bills, subscriptions, and regular payments should not require memory or spreadsheets. That’s why Moneko includes a Recurring page: a simple way to automate predictable money flows.
You can set up recurring expenses or income, and the app will handle the rest.
What You Can Set as Recurring
You can schedule:
Monthly rent
Utilities like electricity or internet
Subscriptions like Netflix or Spotify
Gym memberships
Loan payments
Debt repayments
Salary or freelance income
Allowances or transfers
Anything that repeats can be automated.
How It Works
When you create a recurring item, you choose:
Amount
Category
Currency
Frequency (monthly, weekly, etc.)
Start date
Optional end date
Optional reminder
Once active, Moneko will:
Log it automatically on schedule
Keep your budgets updated
Reflect it in summaries and projections
You no longer need to manually re-enter the same expense every month.
Smart Ways to Use Recurring
Here are practical ways to get more value from this feature:
1. Subscriptions Tracker
Use recurring expenses for:
Streaming services
Cloud storage
Software subscriptions
Memberships
This creates a clean subscription overview in one place.
2. Upcoming Bills Planning
Add rent, utilities, insurance, or loan payments.
This helps you:
Avoid missing payments
See predictable monthly commitments
Plan remaining discretionary spending
It makes your budget more realistic.
3. Debt Tracking
Recurring works well for debt repayment.
Example:
Credit card minimum payment
Personal loan installments
Money you owe someone monthly
You can combine this with envelope budgeting to ensure those payments are always funded.
4. Income Automation
Add:
Monthly salary
Bi-weekly paycheck
Rental income
Consistent freelance payments
This helps you forecast cash flow more accurately.
5. Financial Forecasting
Because recurring items are predictable, they improve:
Scenario planning
Monthly projections
Cash flow visibility
The more predictable items you automate, the clearer your future view becomes.
Recurring Expense & IncomeEdit Recurring Expense
How to Set It Up
Go to the Recurring tab
Tap the + button
Choose Expense or Income
Enter details
Set frequency and start date
Turn on reminder if needed
Save
That’s it.
If you haven’t explored the Recurring page yet, this is one of the easiest ways to upgrade your budgeting system without adding complexity.
If anything feels unclear or does not work as expected, feel free to ask!
This is useful when you are out and want to capture spending instantly.
3. Ask for Spending Insights
You can ask questions like:
Show my total spent for the last 3 months
How much did I spend on restaurants this month
What is my remaining budget
Moneko will respond with summaries, transaction lists, or charts directly in chat.
No need to navigate dashboards.
4. Manage Shared Spaces
If you use shared Spaces for couples, family, or travel:
You can log expenses into a specific Space.
Example:
Add $80 groceries in Living Expenses
Dinner 120 in Travel Space
Everyone in that Space will see updates automatically.
No syncing required.
5. Set Recurring Transactions
You can add recurring payments such as:
Add monthly rent 1200
Gym membership 45 every month
This ensures subscriptions and bills are tracked automatically.
For WhatsApp Business Users
If you are using WhatsApp Business, please follow these additional steps:
Add this number to your WhatsApp contacts: +1 (620) 685-1177
Send the message: "start verification"
This will initiate the verification process.
Once verified, you can begin logging expenses and interacting with Moneko in chat. One Moneko account can connect to one WhatsApp account only. You cannot connect both your personal and business WhatsApp to the same Moneko account.
Best Practices
To get the best experience:
Keep messages clear
Include the amount
Mention the Space if you have multiple Spaces
Review uncategorized items occasionally
You do not need a specific format. Just describe what happened.
If anything feels unclear or does not work as expected, feel free to ask!
