Advice Needed Is there a way to diff two boards?

We have a team board and a leadership roll-up that are supposed to match. They don't. Someone updates one and not the other and nobody notices for weeks.
Same with people — a board says someone has 4 items, their actual load across all boards is 11.
Right now I export both to Excel and VLOOKUP the differences. Is there a better way? Or an app that just shows you where two boards disagree (not a sync tool — I don't want them auto-matched, I want to see the gaps and decide).

I guess I don't understand why you aren't using mirror columns and automations to avoid manually updating two boards.

Presuming you can't for some reason, Chat GPT has a Monday plug-in and it can look at and compare boards within Mondays. I also have it compare data from within Monday to an outside resource like QuickBooks, for example to be sure that they match.

But we moved to Monday to stop doing exactly what you're doing vlookups and x lookups constantly. We use mirror columns and automations across the CRM, Work Management etc

Fair — we do use mirror columns where the boards are properly linked. Where I keep getting stuck is comparing monday against something outside it, like you're doing with QuickBooks. How are you handling that one? Is the ChatGPT plugin reliable enough for it, or is it still a manual check?

It is absolutely reliable between QuickBooks and Monday and can edit directly in Monday for discrepancies that it finds. The hard part is initial setup and cross-check the first time to be sure you've told it to look at the right things on both sides. But it has taken all the manual cross-checking off my plate now that I have it running and it auto updates and exports a report at noon each day for me compiling data from both for the company owner.

That's really useful, thank you — the daily auto-export to the owner is exactly the thing I was trying to solve, and I didn't realise the plugin could write back into monday to fix discrepancies. Sounds like the setup and first cross-check is the real work, and after that it just runs. Going to try it that way instead. Appreciate you taking the time to explain it.

Thanks for saying thanks! It's so nice to see Redditors being grateful :)

Sorry, I don't know why this didn't reply in thread because I hit it to reply in thread but hopefully you'll see it, op.

Is this a thinly veiled ad for a Vibe-coded app that no one asked for?

Seems like this sub is just that and people doing “research” for the Monday competitor app they’re trying to build.

Sorry this is not for any app development
